Bang Khen and Crime Suppression Police armed with a search warrant inspected the premises of a building supply firm after a man from south Thailand was reported missing.

The relatives of Atcha Noopathum, 38, from Phattalung and his employer at the firm had both reported him missing since March 6th.

He had not left his place of work at the building firm.

Police with a backhoe went to an area behind a restaurant on Thepparak Road in Bang Khen after receiving information that something was buried there.

Under 3-4 meters of earth and a layer of concrete they found the body of a decomposing man in a 200 liter drum.

He is believed to be the missing man.

Police said they suspect that the killer was known to the victim and that a love triangle was at the root of the crime.

Investigations continue.

Police are seeking a 47-year-old caretaker of a construction business in Bangkok's Bang Khen district following the Tuesday night discovery of the body of his 38-year-old distant relative and colleague in an oil drum filled with mortar.

Atcha Noopathum, who worked at the same shop as a garage mechanic, sustained two blunt blows to the head, which was wrapped in a black plastic bag.

The shop caretaker, identified only by his nickname Joop, got police attention when he asked for Bang Khen police's help to look for Atcha after March 6.

Police said a probe showed the victim had not left the shop on March 6.

Officers also said they found the oil drum which had been recently buried in a wood behind a restaurant on Theparak Road in Tha Raeng sub-district. The restaurant owner was reportedly linked to the construction shop staff.

Police used a backhoe to dig four metres underground and extracted the body for a post mortem on Tuesday.

By the time of the body’s discovery, Joop had disappeared with police saying they suspected romantic jealousy might have been involved.

Once again a tragic threerome love affaire that turns ugly.

Getting dangerous to date a lady on a regular basis in Thailand,  as one never knows if there is a jealous nutcase hiding somewhere behind the wings.

With the ever present "someone" who knows where they're buried !!

My girlfriend called it a "sandwich" when she suggested her, her friend and I sleep together. I will NOT have a "sandwich" with another man. RIP.
