Can you exchange thai baht for Indonesian currency in Pattaya

Featured Replies

I am visiting Pattaya for a week in August, and then off to Bali for one week. Does anyone know if you can buy Indonesian currency at exchange booths in Pattaya.

Cheers

I was in Bank Gold two weeks ago, Soi Rungland, on the south side of Pattaya Tai, just a block east of third road. The guy in front of me bought Indo currency. The airports in Indonesia have money changers, probably at fair rates and definitely better than at Thai airports.

The best rates are always local. So if you're flying in from the West with a major currency (pounds, dollars, euros) change those for baht when you're in Thailand, and keep some for rupiah when you're in Bali. Even if you have the money in Thai baht, you're still going to get a better rate on it in Bali than you would changing it up in Thailand first.
