Maybe throw in Carlton as a trio package?

And Richmond, well the jury is still out on them for me.

AlexRRR
Geese a few are over excited only after 1 game, all the Dees will do is make a few of them finals aspirants honest.... Now I have a question about "margin" in the tipping what's all that about....ummm I ignored setting the win margin in the first game and not noticed it anywhere else. It is only in the first game you have to pick the margin. You pick your team to win and then choose the margin you think that team will win by Example. You pick team A to win by 20 points Team B wins by 20 points instead. Your margin is now 40 points Last week you didn't pick a margin (so your margin by default is 0) and you picked Carlton. Carlton lost by 27 points. So your cumulative points are 27 for the season. At the end of the season the margin could decide who the winner of the comp is. I expect I will be outright leader though P.S You can change any of your selections at any time before each individual game starts Edited April 8, 2015 by BookMan

Interesting to read the kick to handball stats from round one. Eagles had more handballs than kicks, adelaide and hawthorn nearly double amount of kicks to handballs. just saying kicking,it is better me thinks..

chooka
AFL Football Operations Manager Mark Evans says a mid-season draft 'has merit' AFL Football Operations Manager Mark Evans says a mid-season trade period "has merit" but admits he'd be hesitant to sign off on any change. Speaking on Sports Today, Evans told Gerard Healy and Dwayne Russell he could see some positives in tinkering with the current system but that clubs would be against losing players mid-season. "My position, when I was at a club, was that I'm not sure I'd want to lose that intellectual property off my list to go to some other list," the former Hawthorn general manager said on 3AW. "I'd be very reluctant to trade out. "You wouldn't want it to be done for that reason. "But I do accept it's worked in some other sports and I don't think we should be against having that debate." Mitch Brown and James Magner both impressed during the NAB Challenge while playing as top-up players for Essendon and Evans said he'd much prefer a system that gave players not already on an AFL list a second chance. "To me, that's got more merit," he said. listen... http://www.3aw.com.au/news/afl-football-operations-manager-mark-evans-says-a-midseason-draft-has-merit-20150407-1mg8yc.html Edited April 9, 2015 by chooka
BookMan
Mid season draft is an interesting idea. Imagine you were a club with goal kicking issues but on the cusp of making the finals. Your top forward has been injured in round 4. out for the season Mid way through the season you recruit yourself a top forward from a rival club The club you recruit the forward from then goes from being near the finals to missing out Your club makes the finals

GrantSmith
Like Evans' thinking about players running around in the VFL/SANFL/WAFL/NEAFL who can't get a contract this would be a good aspiration for them but having current AFL listed players shopped around mid season will turn the game into a farce like NRL (Rugby League) In other news, I see Benny Cousins has handed himself in... Seems he's got enough stories to write several best sellers...
Ron19
Geelong has ruled out exciting midfielder Steve Motlop from its round two clash against Fremantle for failing to meet the standards expected of Cats players. Cats coach Chris Scott told the media on Thursday that the club was disappointed that disciplinary action was necessary for an off-field issue, but was pleased with how the 24-year-old had responded to the suspension. Scott said the club had clear expectations of its players and Motlop wasn't able to meet them on this occasion. He would therefore not play an AFL or VFL game this week. Motlop was Geelong's best player in the club's 62-point loss to Hawthorn and his dash will be sorely missed in the crucial game at Simonds Stadium on Sunday against Fremantle. "The team and Steve will pay a big penalty this week, but having said that we're really happy with the way Steve responded in the aftermath and we are really positive that this is going to have a good outcome for the whole club and importantly for Steve," Scott said. "We have clear expectations of our players and there is no grey area here. "Steve has not been able to meet those on this occasion and to his credit he acknowledges it and he admits and he is prepared to take his right whack."

Nathan Buckley advocated the mid season draft last year when Collingwood had a lot of injuries, mentioning it would be a good way to top up with a defender. i wouldn't like to see players switching clubs mid season.
