What a bloody game that was! One for the purists that one...

I was saying to my old man at half time that as long as the boys aren't too far behind at 3/4 quarter time, they're in with a chance, I was laughed out of the pub

Pretty piss poor game by all concerned really, Spiderman looked in all sorts of trouble after Buddy knocked him out and up until then was probably the hardest worker. Captain Jack was insipid, just wasn't giving any leadership, Josh Kennedy was clearly on the wrong ground up until the 4th.

Was really impressed by Heeney's work rate especially from an 18 year old in his first senior game. Dean Towers wasn't too bad either. For Essendon the old guard put in a pretty good effort but you could see that they were done early in the 4th as Sydney realised they'd been playing at the SCG for 3/4 and only got to ANZ in the last quarter.

Won't be able to play like that next weekend...

Going into the year, I thought WC would finish between 8th to 10th.

Will now reassess to anywhere between 10th and 14th.

Last year I thought we had one of the best groups of big guys in the league.

With Glass and Cox retiring and having lost our F&B winner Mackenzie pre-season,

I thought the stocks were looking a bit thin. Then losing our full back Mitch Brown

for the year hurts. Add to that Jack Darling being out injured really has decimated the

big man stocks.

Still, thought it was a decent game to watch yesterday and accurate kicking allowed us to

be close for most of the game. Still, WC's problem is the same as last year, no pace.

I just hope we can get over Malthouses mob next Friday night. It's my grand final
