The Showdown was a brilliant (sorry Scea) game as usual.

The AFL can't give it a standalone game on a Thursday or Friday night that it deserves.

But let's keep giving them to Carlton , Essendon and Richmond.

Fair enough........

Looking forward to today's cripple fight between WC and Richmond.

My view for key night/prime time slots is that they should be flexible and have the power to move games around, say up to 3 weeks out, AFL do a first...

I might be a bit late with the footy tipping update today gang.

I'm still in the fetal position under the coffee table.

Well Gang

That's it for another round.

Four picked eight, so again I won't be dishing out any chocolates for this week.

Mr Smith still out on top.

Until next time.

Thanks Rip.

Luckily the last game yesterday was a late one, so I managed to crawl out.

Good tipping FJ.

Not so good backing the Pies, thought they were in better form than the cats but not so.

Well Peeps

That's it for round 9.

As you can see, 5 picked 8 so no chocolate distribution again.

Although Scea was close by picking the margin as well.

Years gone by you could win the weekly tipping with 5.

This year picking 7 and 8 is more the norm.

There's just seems to be quite the gap between the good and bad teams this year.

GrannyApples still on top.

Until next time.

Well done Scea with the correct margin.

Its happened, first coach down, Voss resigns by mutual consent, little bit hard to say no im not going with a bunch of dead beat players all 22 pushing you out the door, timing is perfect of course, 8 hrs before the Federal Government hands down its budget, the civil war will start 8 am Tuesday morning in Canberra, them renters belly aching about cost of living and being priced out of housing could be sorry if proposed changes to negative gearing are actual factual. I recall when brother Keating played funny business with it....zoom went the rents...anyway the press will be to busy to chase Voss after this evening....

When does Brad fall?

That was not a game I would want to see again. I thought the Swans were gone for all money. Lucky Collingwood had a few out. Time for another beer to relax.

Well Peeps

That's it for a round of upsets.

The choccies are back and this week the Violet Crumbles go to NavyBloos AKA Radar for an amazing 8.

Alls well up on Wills farm, a few of us could see it coming....I can dust off my Dee cap and wear without embarrassment, The Swan boys are a smiling, Fj's heart has warmed up with massive improvements, the Port man is mystified, and Adrian is happy to see the back Voss...

Let's get it rolling.....the gutter press have indicated Toby Green @ 32 and The Hulk Hogan of a similar age are out of contract years end...May my dream come true?

While Hogan we still love and the Dees thrown in there for spice of life, we simply dont have room for him, now Toby.....Tooooooooby we do, he would put some grunt and muscle into whats shaping to be a somewhat deadly young forward zone....love it, would think they the Gaints would nail there captain down on a further two year deal for sure...but...lets go shopping Demons...make my dream come true...I love a hard man....thats got talent to burn...

Its a given the Gaints are cooked, they need list changes for sure there Italian Cog something or other a mid 7 ys deal Is up too and @ 32 will struggle to get anywhere near the deal he was on, Hogan should have grown up enough by now to be thinking of going home, WCE, you wouldnt be doing to bad in getting the Italian mid as well....help right the ship with some experience...there Willy...

The King effect is sweeping DeeLand, Fritch and Chandler close to new deals.....some clubs had been licking lips over Baily im sure...no hands off...hes my man...Sparrow? ummm im sure the Crows are whispering in his ear......Love it when it's close to contract time players have a stela season....recon we should offer one year deals no?

Nice work Uncle Alex.

Unfortunately, I can't concentrate on anything else apart from the great man's record breaking game this week.

There're calls in The Age this morning to re-name the Copeland medal to the Pendlebury medal.

This will be the biggest wankfest known to man this week.

I just hope WC can give them a scare.

What do you call something that has 40 legs and only 10 teeth?

The Collingwood cheer squad.

They haven't got much to cheer about so they will be living off of this for the entire rest of season, I feel sad for you....Pies are very good at raising to the occasion...there just a few players short of contending and appear to be very well coached....They will make sure its a good day out...me if I where you id be turning off the telly and have a date afternoon with the mrs...other wise that poor dog....wont be any room under the coffee table for you.

The Blues team of the of the last 100 years....John "light fingers" Nichols, Nick "I dug a hole then left" (plus woman basher) Stevens, and they where heavy into Ricky Nixon...Whos last recent court appearance was over selling fake Melbourne Demons signed premiership jumpers, so god dam dumb that he had Max Gawns number incorrect, I ask you? Well it would raise suspicion seeing Max's signature on anything other than number 11 right?

Eagles turned up to scare the pants off the Pies, they where definitely wobbly up to the 20 min mark of that last quarter, switched over sitting there on the sofa rooting for your men Billy...and they where looking good...Mr Hogan could/would have made the difference...

Fj can take the mrs out to a BBQ tonight and celebrate, pretty sure your feet haven't touched the ground since end of the game..

Not that I'm complaining mind you.

Yes very un north like Alex.

Tell you what,i'm looking forward to next year already.😀

Another one bites the dust....Brad is down and Chris recons its a s.h.i.t job. Like Brad can coach, we seen it at North.

Blues win two on the trott after Voss....so it's got to be the schooling right? they teach them to ask questions these days, when I was at Catholic schools it was mouth shut, I dont know of course, but lets not look at the recruiters hey, or the board, well the Bomber where derailed over that supplement saga which I still struggle to understand why the whole team of players where banned when they where under instructions or shall we say guided by people above them to take the jab...

Yes I hated the Bombers the most, 14 years straight of getting beaten up and they made it the worst, supporters wanted blood even in a thrashing, though the ex was very polite while partaking in the one sided affair, just a smile, meaning better luck next time...Anyway I think they have suffered enough...let the gods take this curse from them, may they become better, thats after every board member and recruiter gets the chop.

Meanwhile Remero returns from Argentina in time for the last game of the season, while excused decided to return off his own accord, the club captain should never have gone away, Spurs survive while I was secretly wishing they go down, my thinking is they needed a wake up, a year in the two's would have done that, Eddies got the boards backing....my other club, NU, omg they need new glasses, tracking backwards since a cup win..no plan B...love how that gets used these days...

The Jets land a stack of top draft hopefuls from the NFL draft, except they have a record to NOT be able to develop them, the Suns (untill Hardwick joined) of the NFL, Current Superbowl MVP was the number one pick in his draft year by the Jets then they just set about ruining him, they have a stack of draft picks for next year too....there eyes are on Manning, who's uncles where the royalty of quarterbacks, dare say lot of high draft picks get nightmares about ending up at the Jets...Browns I love an underdog...perennial in this case, one of my half dozen I follow over there with a bit of passion, there coach, my god, nice guy presented well given the bullet 2 years to late, now at Atlanta, they drafted well again, maybe D Watson will fire upon this year...300m in his pocket for about 15 games in 3 ys...anyway they seem to have done a smart thing by hiring a quarterback focused coach as they have a couple in the wings to step up...but they drafted well last 2 seasons too...Mayfield for Watson....that was a balls up, doing just nice at the Bucks is Baker...My man Allen gets a new coach, was a shock when announced, Bills part way with a coach thats got them into the play offs 7 ys straight....fingers crossed....

So who's wagging the dog? the players? yep, be warned of wagging tales, there is a case to be made of player movements, just need to look at the Demons, about 4 or 5 players from last game had been running around at Casey for a few long years while Goodwin was in charge, who like most coaches had his must be in the team, 3 new arrivals, thats a third turn over with sparkling results, we have very good recruiters and the one that went to Essendon a few years ago was responsible for duds like Billings that scray winger and the now retired Macadams, and we see how the Bombers have been tracking, sooooooo why did the Demons faultier in 2022? Goodwin did not blood one new player that season... not a single drop of new blood came into the team, yet that Casey team had some talent in it...

Neil passes, must really erk Bomber supporters how we have hijacked Neil to be one of us, family, club captain the next big thing at Windy Hill....a good guy...long may his legacy rein..

AUSTRALIA'S population hits 28 million, and most of them live in Melbourne, Mick Gatto Blues silent president arrested along with the wife....for...alleged financial offences, unsticable is Mick, still a hero in my eyes for taking out Benji...The Worm..leave him alone says the crowed in the outer....@ Princess Park...wait a min, Blues aint played there in years...actually it was my preferred ground to go to, could race there in my 69 Cooper S ( not a vintage just yet in those days) and park then walk to the ground in my Adidas shoes in under 20 min...wearing my brown beat up Bomber jacket (well it was the fashion in the 80s) ala Harrison Tomb Raiders or something like that...You aint lived or had style untill you owned a real leather bomber jacket.

Those were the days....untill them migrants showed up and something along the lines of ground management's, like who could forget rocking up to the Moorabbin ground home of the Saints, Melbourne not seeing rain in months and the ground was half under water....then most of the crowed in trakkie dakkies, with plastic bags thrown over for raincoats...was a bit of an ordeal to get to you know, I was a a inner northern boy while the Saints played somewhere near the South Pole...Even Kardina Park was easier to get too...

Migrants....maybe it was one of them that hit me with her brolly for being a little loud at the G one day against the Swans, hit on the shoulder, I got issues now with that shoulder, not sure if its from working or from that sweet old lady a football injury now...That little old lady told me to shut up, wagging the brolly in a threatening way like Trump and his rhetoric with Iran...I mentioned in-between wild swings I had payed for my ticket...etc....

Im quite disgusted in the Blues players, 3 on the Trott...Micks out on bail, guess he had a talk to them, along the lines of a deal that they could not refuse...that could be the only reason them loafers found a new spring in there step...

Kings bubble has burst...honeymoon is over, while still half decent more often than not we go into the wild card race from here on in, then, can we trust the Bombers to get it right? Look Hird is ideal, the guy will bring back some pride, he will steady thats got a lot of holes, he is Essendon.

Blues ahhhh Adrian will coach them for a pack of lollies...
