Would you guys go to Pattaya City Hospital for basic visits, ie health checks, std checks etc? They have quite bad ratings on Google so I've been going to Memorial which is further away. But I wonder if they are okay for basic things

For health checks at least for values like blood sugar, cholesterol and so on I always go to a laboratory. Great service for 500 Baht and the results the same day by email. They have many different test packages. But you have to be able to understand the results. They will make a brief comment if something is out of the normal range. Not sure if you can discuss more with them - never needed this since I never had a bigger problem.

Any good places for STD screenings? I see those little clinics around on Buakao but I went to one and they told me to go to a hospital (I had a little bump)

From past experience working closely within the medical profession ,I would not recommend.Without going into too much medical details. My partner(female) had to give a urine sample as part of an ongoing investigation, three times the sample was rejected as contaminated and to be done and paid for again.I went with her the next time and noted that they did not tell her that the sample should be "Mid stream".I told her this and the sample was fine. When I spoke to the hospital administrator that we should not pay for the previous three sample tests, she said we should meet her in her office downstairs to discuss it.When we went to her office she was not there and no one could find her!!!.The other thing was, after an injection my partner was left with a bloody cotton wool wad.I asked the staff where should I dispose of it and they told me,"just put it in the bin".A normal bin not one labeled contaminated waste, where it should have gone. At the same time she was prescribed six different tablets, which on checking, three were exactly the same thing with just a different brand name.

Draw your own conclusions.

Yes

Life care (might be Life Labs) just off 3rd road between the overpass but before the lights at Regional Land (the intersection that for some reason has a sign that says "Teeden". That goes into behind Tukcom.

So come from the overpass and turn left at the Chinese restaurant. They have an awful to read website on siam2web.

It is in half a block from 3rd road on the left. Used to be down the road from the Laundry Express sign. Now it's a block farther away from the overpass. So after Laundry Express but before the traffic lights.

Package 6 IIRC is 600Baht and tests for Hep B, HIV, syphilis using VDRL , Chlamydia and Gonorrhea. Same day results. Most individual tests are nearly 600B so may as well do them all.

I would stay well clear of the place, I had a motorcycle accident and went there for superficial wounds, they wanted money up front, no credit or debit accepted. The treatment was very poor, I only went a couple of times because of the bad treatment, and no English spoken.
