Would some kind person please state what the interest rate for an ordinary savings account is at the present time.

Your taxed on the interest earn but can it refunded in some cases at the tax office.

For a "regular" savings account?  It's 0.5%.

For the interest rate link Kawaski gave above that was for a "fixed" savings account which provide much higher interest rates but also incur a 15% withholding tax on any amount of interest earned and come with restrictions such as losing all or most interest if withdrawing funds before the account period matures.

 

On a regular savings account you do not incur any withholding tax until you exceed Bt20K interest earned per year.
