I only have 3 pages left in my British passport and have to get a work visa for Bangladesh. Bangladesh requires 1 empty page so I am good for the visa.

I will then not have enough pages when I return to Thailand for re-entry once I leave Bangladesh.

Rentering Thailand can I use my Canadian passport, the concern is my retirement visa is in my British passport will Thai immigration at the BKK airport have any issues with this?

I would just renew my GBR passport but this work came up suddenly and they need my physical passport to acquire the Bangladesh visa.

I have an appointment to renew my visa but that is 7 days away and my understanding is even a fastrack replacement Passport will be 7 days so 14 days in total, I will miss my target date to get the Work visa.

I tried to get the Bangladesh visa on my Canadian passport but they can not do that without an entry stamp into Thailand in the passport.

I am also thinking of just driving to Cambodia exiting on my GBR passport and return the next day on my Canadian passport but I am not sure if there will be any issues and of course do not want to be denied entry back to Thailand.

Does anyone have experience with my current Dilemma?

Cheers and Thanks.

With 3 empty pages in your British PP you should be OK (are they all actual visa pages?), 1 page for the Bangladesh visa, 1/2 a page for your Thai extension (if you need it), 1/2 a page for your Thai re-entry permit.

Should leave plenty of space for immigration stamps, the border chaps are pretty good ad shoehorning stamps into any available space.

You can't swap passports at land borders, so that idea is out.

Entering Thailand on your Canadian passport whilst you have a valid extension in your British may cause immigration to have a fit, their computer will connect the two passports.

Could you buzz down to KL, enter Malaysia on your Canadian PP and get the Bangladesh visa there?

Crossy, Thank you.

We just had a fellow sent back to Canada from the BKK airport he was deported because he did not have 6 empty pages. He flew in from Myanmar.

There may be more to that story I am not sure.

What about when I get a new GBR passport will my Thai visa transfer to the new passport or will they just staple the two passports together?

Thank you for the advice Cheers!

Once you get your new passport you should also get a letter asking immigration to move your stamps. The process is free, although it takes up two pages of your expensive UK PP so it costs there (get a jumbo passport).

I've been assuming you have an extension of stay here.

Might be easier to get a new UK passport in Bangladesh anyway?

Not sure getting anything done in Bangladesh is easy!

You cannot change passports when crossing a land border.  If you really mean you have a multiple entry Non O-A visa in your UK passport (and not an extension of your permission to stay based on retirement) you could do a day trip by air, returning to Thailand on a visa exempt entry using your Canadian passport to get the Bangladesh visa. On return to Thailand from Bangladesh, you would then revert to your UK passport, using your Non O-A visa to enter.

However, if as I suspect, you currently have an extended permission to stay based on retirement, you pretty much must use your UK passport throughout. With both the Bangladesh visa and your current Thai extended permission to stay in your UK passport, there is no way to use your Canadian passport for entering Bangladesh or returning to Thailand (without cancelling your retirement extension). If you have not yet applied for the Bangladesh visa, you could fly to another city with a Bangladesh consulate (entering that country with your Canadian passport) and get a Bangladeshi visa in your Canadian passport that way: all very complicated and surely a last resort.

Because? The Immigration Officer checks for an exit stamp from the other country?

Entry and departure stamps for the other country. Boths sides of the border crossing check for that.

Why would a Thai IO need to do that if, as many claim, the passports are already linked in Immigration's computers?

They would not see any entry and stamps for the other country on their computers. The reason they do it is to insure somebody did not just clear immigration and then turn around and come back without entering the other country.

Like someone flying from Bangkok to Singapore, hanging around Changi Airport in transit and then flying back again and entering Thailand on a different passport?

Doing that could cause a problem if the immigration officer decided to look for a departure stamp for another country.

Not wise to play that game of waiting in the transit area when doing a run to another country by air to get a new entry.

I don't know about British but I remember seeing that you could get pages added to a Canadian passport.

Edit: After some research it is not possible for both passport.
