webfact
Suthep, PDRC members appear in Criminal Court BANGKOK, (NNT) - The veteran politician and former secretary-general of the now-defunct People’s Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC), Suthep Thaugsuban, and 30 other core members of the PDRC, arrived at the Criminal Court for a witness hearing today, after they were indicted on multiple charges stemming from anti-government protests at the Office of the Attorney-General. Former PDRC secretary-general Suthep, together with Puttipong Punnakanta, Anchalee Paireerak, Akanat Promphan, Sathit Wongnongtoey, Rangsima Rodrasamee, Chumpol Jullasai, Thavorn Seniam, Nataphol Teepsuwan, and other PDRC members traveled to the Criminal Court for a witness hearing after they were indicted on multiple charges, including criminal association, obstructing other people from voting in a general election, trespassing on state buildings, and insurrection. Mr. Suthep said he was concerned about the case since it happened a long time ago and finding witnesses and collecting evidence is now difficult. However, he said that the PDRC members will all fight the charges in accordance with the judicial process. On January 24, 2019, the Office of the Attorney-General arraigned the nine former PDRC members on charges relating to the anti-Yingluck Shinawatra government protests in 2013 and 2014. . They were charged with inciting people to join their protests and activities aimed at toppling the Yingluck administration, setting up both armed and unarmed forces to invade government agencies, inciting public members, workers and government officials to go on strike, and conspiring to commit terrorism by using force to cause harm to people, and obstructing election officials and voters. The Attorney-General also charged Mr. Suthep and Mr. Chumpol with acts of terrorism. In total, 58 suspects are accused in this case. The charges were dropped against one suspect, Picharn Sukparungsee . The Department of Special Investigation (DSI) had not brought the case against three suspects, while seven other suspects were categorized in a separate case. In addition, four suspects, Sombat Thamrongthanyawong, Sakontee Phattiyakul, Seri Wongmontha , and Sonthiyan Chuenruethainaitham , were later indicted. Thirty-four suspects sought a delay in appearing in court to hear the indictment charges. -- © Copyright nnt 2019-05-15 Follow Thaivisa on LINE for breaking Thailand news and visa info

ChrisY1
While it really pleasing to see this grub, Suthep and his band of gangsters, in the criminal court....I somehow don't think too much will eventuate. This guy is wrapped in teflon and seems to slide out of trouble with ease.
