Strawberry cocktail: have a taste of sex appeal

19:31 2004-05-25

According to Patrick Holford, founder of the Institute for Optimum Nutrition in the UK, strawberries and raspberries are the quintessential summer fruits - are also bursting with sex appeal.

Just a handful of the natural aphrodisiacs can help to boost the sex drive, Patrick Holford said.

The high zinc content is believed to be responsible for their role in boosting sexual prowess and performance.

But one of Wales' leading fruit growers said it was blueberries, and not strawberries and raspberries, which are regarded as nature's Viagra.

And Charles George, who runs The Fruit Garden in Peterson-super-Ely, said most people are attracted to strawberries and raspberries not because of their beneficial health properties but because of their taste, reports icwales.icnetwork.co.uk

According to webindia123.com If your love life is lying low, try eating strawberries rather than oysters cos if a leading nutritionist is to be believed, they could boost your libido. Eating the whole fruit, rather than removing the seeds, boosts own zinc levels. Zinc is nature's aphrodisiac since it helps the production of testosterone and sperm in men, and high zinc levels reportedly make women more receptive to sex.

Popping a handful of strawberries or raspberries before you go into the bedroom can give your flagging sex life a boost.

"Every time you have sex, or simply want to ready yourself or your partner for sex you should consume a handful of raspberries or strawberries," the report quoted Holford as saying.

"These berries are also incredibly high in anti-oxidants which helps to optimise blood flow to the sex organs, making them extremely beneficial in the bedroom," he added.

Tried it once - you just end up with a handful of mush.

I thought excessive amounts of zinc were bad for you ...... but

'Zinc, the number-one nutritional deficiency in U.S. children, according to a Tufts University study, has become a favorite subject of clinical investigation this past year, due to the critical role this "forgotten nutrient" plays in fighting common colds and maximizing physical growth and development. Recent clinical studies demonstrate that dietary zinc clearly enhances overall immune system competence and can act to prevent diarrhea, acute lower respiratory infections, pneumonia and malaria.'

If your sex life is "flagging" due to zinc deficiency, you'd better eat those handfuls of strawberries for a couple WEEKS before you go into the bedroom.

I am thinkin' Holford needs to take a class in physiology and nutrition. Maybe he works for the EU strawberry lobby? :o

Jeez, it was the strawberries.

I thought it was me.

Oh well, I just have to keep buying them.

Keeps the illusion alive,... :o

give me a nicely peeled and sliced cantaloupe any day especially when served by a naked brown skinned thai woman...air conditioning optional...

Sorry Tutsi but can I say it?

I agree about the air conditionning optional.

But for me, the cantaloupe is also optional as well as the brown skin.

The rest is OK.

But anyway, quite flexible on the matter,... :o:D

bluecat...please indicate to me that there are subjects in my last post other than 'brown skinned thai women', 'canteloupes' and 'air conditioning'...

then maybe we can discuss 'the rest' as in 'the rest is OK'...

felines are an annoying species when inebriated...
