Yep. He'd be doing 50 to life buried in some American gulag. WikiLeaks in jornalism acting in the public interest of all of us.

Again, conflating two different things. WikiLeaks is not just Julian Assange. He was its founder and is often described as its director, but WikiLeaks is more than just him. For instance, Sarah Harrison, Kristinn Hrafnsson and Joseph Farrell are also involved - Hrafnsson has been editor-in-chief since 2018. According to interviews I've seen with former WikiLeaks staffers, the other members do not always agree with some of Assange's decisions and methods.

If the charges did not constitute a crime in the UK they could not extradite.

Not true - Assange's extradition would have been pursuant to a European Arrest Warrant issued by the Swedes.

An EAW "can be executed for a wide variety of offences without any requirement that the offence to which the warrant relates corresponds to an offence under the law of the state asked to execute the warrant ..."

Just so that everyone understands, the charge of rape in this instance does not mean that Assange had sex with the woman against her will or that he forced her to have sex with him. The charge instead relates to them having sex consensually but while she believed he was wearing a confom while he knew he was not wearing a condom but understood that she believed he was.

To have sex in Sweden is still ok without writings before says the Swedish law!

Assage was never charged!

This documentary summed it up pretty well and all is about how US behaved in Iraq and their reason to attack a country having lots of oil and didn't allow US presence in their country.

It is interesting how people goes on posting everywhere like US believe they can do anything and get away with their crimes. This case is very shameful for Sweden who did what US told them to do.  After having sex with him, arranging parties, presenting him at work they found out he did not want relationship.

This ladies went to police trying to force him to go to a STD test. The police said we can't force him just go yourself to a hospital. No rape whatsoever from the ladies!

Police, prosecutor leaked to media and he stayed another 6 weeks in Sweden, then reported to a police station every day for a year in England and the Swedish feminist prosecutor never heard him.

Swedish government stole his 3 laptops!  The ladies never wanted to charge him it was others, the feminist government, who took over the case after changing prosecutor 4 times. Big political scandal in Sweden where US rules as always and MSM decide what to write.

Now Ecuador changed government  so he was thrown out and they took all his IT soft and hard ware. What a challenge for Netflix if they dare to make a movie!

Better to act on the high side with a bow

then live and die low!

What you present aren't established facts.   They are what he, and his lawyers, need to tell the judge.   Then the judge will decide.

They want him in Sweden because the UK has a history of denying extradition to the US.

That's what this is all about, it has nothing to do with Assange humping a couple of his 'groupies'.

This Assange guy by now must be thinking to himself and examining his actions that put him in a lot of troubles of the past 7 years, what was he thinking to make public US classified information and secrets and get away with that? if yes, he's not very smart man, now he's forced to eat the putrid porridge he cooked for himself and all for what? abit of notoriety and a lifetime of running away from the law...

He was an egotist, a narcissist.  He had a following and instead of making very good money which he by all accounts could have done, he got focused and distracted by that calling to "educated the world" or whatever he really believed in.  You make your bed, you have to sleep in it

I think many people regard Assange as another Edward Snowdon, far from it, in my mind at least.

Snowdon was the classic whistle blower. Without any outside influences, he took the information, relayed it to 'journalists', who carefully and responsibly redacted the information to protect individuals from potential harm, before they published.

Assange is no journalist, he has no scruples, he's a simple self aggrandizing narcissist.

He conspired with Chelsea Manning, who I think was used by Assange, but unfortunately for her, she paid the price, to hack confidential information.

He then dumped that information, totally un edited or redacted for the world to see, just for his own self aggrandizement

You are either ignorant of the truth about U.K. extraditions to the US or you are aware of the truth and deliberately misrepresenting facts.

Let me help you out:

As I understand it (maybe incorrectly) he had unprotected consensual sex with two women without informing the women that he was having unprotected sex with both of them. In Sweeden, this opens you up to a sexual assault/rape charge and of course, the reason he did not want to be extradited to Sweeden at that time was to the very real possibility of then being extradited to the US.

If Assange is extradited to Sweden he cannot be re-extradited elsewhere without the approval of both the Swedish and the British courts.

Obeying his extradition to Sweden makes it more difficult for the US to extradite him.

Assange was not trying to avoid extradition to the US he was trying to avoid being held accountable for any part of his behaviour.

He’s wasted seven of the best years of his life in a futile attempt to avoid justice.

Better still, time he spent hiding from justice does not count as ‘time served’.

He’s his own worst enemy.

So much confusion here on purpose. The case is not about how Assange put his dick to play in Sweden. His work is about informing the world how politicians hands and their "boys" the "service" men's hands are full of blood after attacking other countries. Thanks Manning and Assange for helping the small people of the world to slowly wake up.

There is no justice for Assange in Sweden with a feminist government. The weak ones are hiding behind the country with the most deadly weapons. Sweden sold itself out in WW2 by letting the germans use their country while Norway and Denmark did not. Sweden is now full of shame so now all borders are open while they sell weapon to S.A.

"Look at Assange not on us"... is their strategy and the small people are biting in to it.

For 8 years Sweden never talked to him as they didn't have anything on him but US had for publishing their crimes. Now US wants him as he is weaker and has no protection any more. All his files from his consulate hideout was taken by the US to prepare a trail.

Nobody can criticize US, the worldpolice, and some like that while others not, I don't like it!

You open with "So much confusion here on purpose."

Then you ramble on, eventually giving us "Sweden sold itself out in WW2 by letting the germans use their country while Norway and Denmark did not. Sweden is now full of shame so now all borders are open while they sell weapon to S.A."

You're 'avin' a laarf.

Good post, apart from elements of the 2nd and 4th paragraphs.

In this case , only the rape charge is a framework list . The other 3 charges subjected to double criminality conduct.

The judge ruled all 4 charges would be an offence under English law.

Please explain, bearing in mind the rape charge would never have worked in the uk.

If you believe otherwise, explain why you believe this.

Also bearing in mind the post below, which is entirely accurate as far as I can see:-
