Seeing posts about people completing TM30's which I have never done, and neither it seems has my Thai wife cause me to ask WHO is responsible? I always thought it was the hotel or guest house or rented property owner's responsibility to complete and send it reporting the presence of a foreigner?

Is that right?

I have just had my 4th annual extension at CW, I send in a 90 day report 15 days before expire and have NEVER missed one so they know who and where I am.

Should my wife then have filled in a TM30 (4 years ago now)? Or does the marriage extension and regular 90 day report rigmarole obviate the need legally, or is one of us a law-breaker?

Do you leave and reenter Thailand often? Do you travel within Thailand, and check in to hotels using your passport?

Maybe just have your wife file a TM30 reporting you, by post. Seems simple?

Maybe enclose copies of your docs, her Thai ID, blue book and/or chanote, return stamped envelope.

Bangkok Immigration allow you to file the TM30 report by mail (old fashioned postal service), these are the needed documents:
1. Chanote copy (I owner)
2. Yellow Book copy
3. Passport copy
4. Departure card copy
5. TM30 filled (both pages)
6. Return envelope with address and 10 THB stamps attached

Address is:
TM30 REGISTRATION,
IMMIGRATION DIVISION 1
Chalermprakiat Government Complex
120 MOO 3, CHAENGWATTANA ROAD,SOI 7,
LAKSI, BANGKOK. 10210

If she is the owner, your wife will have to fill out the form. She will be fined 800 baht for not completing it within 24hrs of you staying at your house after entering the country, 4 yrs ago.

I'm in a similar situation to you. I sent my wife to CW to do it last week.

Thousands of people are being caught out by this.

I went to Immigration with my wife on my last return.

She handed her blue book and my passport to guy and said i think you have to do something!

He filled whatever was required and handed it all back

30 min journey Pain the ass yes but better than being stung by a fine  preferable to keep you money than fund a bunch of crooks
