I quit smoking around 14 months ago.

What helped me immensely, was establishing a "replacement"-habit.

Whenever I felt the need for a cigarette, I tried to steer the urge away from it to the new habit.

I also heard of a few friends doing the same. In my case, I started drinking coffee. Excessively so at first - then I switched to tea occasionally to avoid heart attack.

However, Im smoke free now and it worked.

Does anyone have similar experiences?
