stament
I have a couple of questions regarding this that I would be grateful of assistance. 1) Seller has the green book but need to transfer to another amphur and cannot attend Amphur in person. What is required to be able to successfully transfer the ownership? 2) Seller has green book but not in their name (not ideal) and unable to transfer but have been paying insurance on an ongoing basis based on book. In such an instance what would happen with an insurance claim as the bike is registered to a different individual they don't know. The reason for this is that the foreigner bought the bike from a dealer but couldn't register it as he wasn't resident.
cornishcarlos
1) If you have all the paperwork including sellers ID and the transfer document, there is a "power of attorney" that is used all the time for exactly this scenario 2) Find another bike to buy, it will just end in tears

You can download it. All bike shops use it when they buy a bike and don't transfer name to the shop. Straight fwd process.

Required documents The seller does not need to be present so long as you have the required signed photocopies of their ID and their signature on the title transfer application form. The buyer needs to bring the following to the Land Transport Office: Vehicle Vehicle ownership booklet (green book) Passport Signed copies of passport info page and visa page Residence Certificate from Immigration or your embassy (or a work permit) Application form signed by the seller (form available at the office) In addition, you’ll need either of the following from the seller: Signed copy of national ID card if the seller is a Thai citizen Signed copy of passport info and visa pages if the seller is a foreigner
aremesal
Power of attorney sounds complicated think better to avoid bothA Tm47 is more complicated than a PoA [emoji28] everyone uses it all the time, it's just a form. You can download or even in the Land Transport Office they have copies ready to give to you - stapled to the transfer form.
