Norton Internet Security blocking TV forum pages as malicious

Recommended Posts

Posted

Had no trouble before, but in past two days cannot access Forum topics. This is the message flashed up by my NI. It blocks all topics, not only the one shown.;

I can access Thaivisa.com, just not the form topics.

Suggestions?

Malicious Site Blocked!

This web page is a known malicious web page. It is highly recommended that you do NOT visit this page.

Protect using Intrusion Prevention Scanning in Norton Safe Web extension

What is Intrusion Prevention Scanning?

Intrusion Prevention Scanning in Norton Safe Web extension provides security by scanning the request and response headers. It also monitors the traffic that happens through the browser and protects users against malicious websites. Some of the attacks that Intrusion Prevention Scanning prevents include malvertisements, technical support scams, and browser-based cryptojacking.

When Norton Safe Web detects a malicious webpage, it displays the below page indicating that the website may have threats infecting your computer.

How does Intrusion Prevention Scanning protect you?

Intrusion Prevention Scanning offers protection against malicious websites by scanning the request and response headers. This technique is efficient because it prevents the attack before it lands on the computer. Intrusion Prevention Scanning is also cost-efficient since removing or quarantining a malware attack after the attack has taken place can be expensive.

Intrusion Prevention Scanning is not available in Windows 10S.

Well that was quickly dealt with!

Two days of multiple failed attempts and then five minutes after posting above I am able to access Forum topics again.

This is a false positive (honest). You can safely mark Thaivisa.com as safe.

IIRC it was flagged before and turned out to be cause by a remote hosting site being used by some member's avatars.
