The fact that the majority of Harvard entrants have a SAT score above a certain level does not mean it is a fixed requirement for admission. You might just as well say that because Harvard stats show that the majority of new students are aged 18, that means being 18 is a requirement and that something must be wrong if a person who is not 18 is admitted. You're also saying that Harvard's own admissions director doesn't know how their admissions criteria work. 5 hours ago, atyclb said: in hoggs case its pretty clear they made an sat score exception due to his political agenda Of course it's not clear. There is no fixed SAT score requirement for Harvard. This is stated on various different websites that give information on college admissions. Here's one such statement from magoosh.com, a site that claims, "We can help you get into your dream school." Quote There is no absolute minimum SAT score that you need to get into Harvard. Though, considering that Harvard only admitted 4.9% of applicants last year, it’s safe to say that your entire application has to make an impression. There can't be an exception to something that doesn't exist. 1
