Bangkok to host 7th MGMAC

BANGKOK (NNT) - The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) is ready to host the 7th Meeting of Governors/Mayors of ASEAN Capitals (MGMAC) this month.

 

As the ASEAN Chair for 2019, Thailand will host the 7th MGMAC. The Bangkok Governor, Pol. Gen. Aswin Kwanmuang, said the ASEAN member states have agreed that the MGMAC will be held annually. The first MGMAC was organized in Jakarta, Indonesia.

 

This year, the 7th MGMAC will take place at the Shangri-La Hotel in Bang Rak district, Bangkok, from June 26 to 28. The event will help strengthen ties between the ASEAN capital cities. Pol. Gen. Aswin has called on all Thais to be a good host to the delegates of this event.

 

At the 7th MGMAC, the delegates will sign a declaration to strengthen cooperation between the ASEAN capitals, aimed at promoting peace, prosperity, and sustainability while improving the quality of life of its peoples. The venue of the 8th MGMAC will be in Hanoi, Vietnam.
