Wife and I coming back from overseas in July.

Due to flights, we will stay one night in Bangkok before heading back to Isaan.

Any recommendations of a nice hotel to spend 1 night in, close to either of the main airports. About B1000 for the night, airport schuttle bus and some eating shops close by would be nice.

Thanks

There are loads of hotels close to both airports...

For that price, any you choose will be adequate for a nights stay, most have a shuttle service.

I will be staying at Petra Poshtel tomorrow night, near Don Muang... 730 baht, 5 mins walk... Never tried it before but that's part of the experience !!

Get on Booking.com, Agoda.com or any other similar site and have a look.

Hi cornshcarlos and thanks. I have been on the accommodation sites and there are loads of hotels to choose from.

I just wanted a recommended one by someone who has stayed there.

Not really looking for an experience, just somewhere hastle free to stay on the way home to Isaan.

I've just had a back disc replacement and fusion, so not looking for excitement.

Ok... Fair enough.

Suvarnabhumi Airport

Lilac Relax Residence is one that I have stayed at 3 times. They have a shuttle and good breakfast. Think it might have been about 1500 baht though ?

I don't usually stay overnight near Don Muang but like I said above, trying out Petra Poshtel tomorrow as it's walking distance ????

Lets know what it's like as will be flying from donmuang up country, so doesn't really matter which airport we stay near. Thanks.

Those airports are about 40km apart....best stay nearest to the airport you're going to fly from.

Yep I agree, but we get into swampy at about 5 pm, so tossing up about the traffic over to DonMueang and how I'll feel after the flight.

Ahhh....the peak hour traffic....yeah, bad idea to grab a taxi at that time

I always stay HERE when I overnight, little bit more than what you have budgeted for, however, the beds I've found to be extremely comfortable, nice little "Jazz" type bar with a lady singing mellow music and a chap on a piano. Shuttle bus included in the price to and from Suvarnabhumi only, so you'd have to catch a taxi to DM next day.

Amari Don Muang if you are flying from there the next day (especially if you have an early flight).

Just cross the walkway and you are at the airport.

But it is more like 25000 a night though.

If staying at Suvarnabhumi airport this is not a bad hotel which can be had for "just over" 1000. About 5 minute drive away.

2 minute walk to Paseo Mall.

I always use Mariya hotel, nice place, bar/restaurant right next door and 7 -11 nearby. They have a shuttle bus will pick you up.

FX hotel .

On the metro rail link from Suvannapum . Check it out on booking.com. About 1000 a night with good free breakfast included. A few nice restaurants within walking distance plus very comfortable beds.

On arrival you just down to the station in the terminal basement and catch the train. Getting off there is a short walk of about 200 meters to the hotel.
