He is a wanted man so fair enough.

But the cops looking into him because he flipped a sausage on a stall, shows the utter contempt they have for foreigners, who they only want spending money.

I guess if your name is ever mentioned in the media someone somewhere is checking to see if there's any interpol red notices out for you.

I did a check for him and can't see his name on the list....https://www.interpol.int/en/How-we-work/Notices/View-Red-Notices

At least he has the prospect of Hollywood knocking on his cell door.

Moonlit boat ride over the Mekong, living the Isaan dream selling fried chicken, on the lam in a Thai swamp armed only with a PVC Snorkel.

Brilliant

so his wife knew he was on interpol list.

how immigration and consulates gave him visas and extension for 2 years? who he bribed?
As I understood it, he got smuggled in over the Mekong from Laos. (Because he got bored there? Or he got horny; that's why he went to Pattaya?)

Meaning, that he entered illegally. Seems immigration got suspicious, and, before blacklisting and sending him back to Germany, they checked for possible arrest warrants, and ... BINGO!

What a moron to attract attention in his situation!

How did he manage to get his extensions granted, hope there is some investigation into that.

His wife does not seem to grasp the fact that his alleged charges include child pornography

Blaming social media, what about her shielding him ?

Perhaps he "forgot" to tell her about that.

Keeping a low profile means just that.

Well, let's just think about this shall we? He leaves Thailand for Lao, he bribes someone to smuggle him back across the River into Thailand.

A person might surmise that he left tracks in Lao, as his last known whereabouts, to mislead any authorities that might be looking for him. It then seems counterproductive to try to obtain any type of Visa or extension to legally stay in Thailand.

Just my take

And what terrible pattern would that be? The one where they do their job by checking what people are up to and arresting them in case they've done something wrong?

The Thai police could solve world hunger, destroy ISIS and repair the ozone layer, and you people would still complain about it and make up ulterior motives. Complain when it's called for, not when they're doing what they're supposed to.

I'm sure you and your kind will only be happy when: The moment a policeman spots a westerner in the corner of his eye he immediately stops him and checks his papers, urine, criminal record, reporting receipts and social media accounts.

But don't worry, the moment the Westerns will get sick of this authoritarian behavior and leave, The next ones in line to be harassed will be you.

Posting videos on social media is hardly living under the radar. He ties in first place at the moment with the Thai lady who boasted she got off a drink driving charge by paying a bribe. They haven't got two functioning brain cells between them.

The video was taken by some customer and posted on thai social media without his knowledge.

Once when I was working in the income tax department , there is an enforcement department where some of the guy’s job is to read the morning papers for news of somebody splashing money on things like cars, villas, yachts ,  ... and look up on their tax submissions whether their tax declaration merit their lavish lifestyle. So beware what you put in your social media.

He was lucky he found some temporary refuge in a lady that would take him in.  He was also lucky he wasn't reported for working without a permit as I have read many foreign bar owners have been prosecuted for picking up a broom, washing dishes, etc.

Did you people noticed that there are two versions of the story in the separate articles??!

One paints the Thai police as an overzealous farang hunting force that scrutinize people without good reason.

After Fernsebner featured in a Thaivisa News report and social media posts in May after helping his Thai wife "Nong Naen" sell BBQ chicken outside a bag factory in Pak Chong, Nakhon Ratchasima, officials ran checks on the thirty four year old’s immigration status and also contacted the German Embassy in Bangkok.

Immigration police discovered that Fernsebner was wanted on an arrest warrant issued by Interpol issued in 2017.

And the other shows a completely different story where the Thai police were contacted by German officials in the first place.

The post was widely shared, eventually drawing the attention of German embassy officials.

They alerted Thai police that Fernsebner was wanted by Interpol for allegedly selling drugs online, robbery and disseminating child pornography.

So which one is it??

I would actually go for the second one, as BIB are usually too lazy to initiate anything, but will gladly take credit for someones else work (a bit counter productive here :cheesy:)..

Not always but there are thousands here.

Thousands? Evidence for that, or are you stating that immigration is incapable of controlling arrivals with criminal pasts ?

He shouldn't have put himself in the spotlight, if he's guilty then no problem, he's just dumb and his charges do appear to be severe.

While browsing through the interpol notices I saw one of the 'wanted fugitives' is wanted for 'posession of cannabis' - a minor offence in the relatively sane parts of the world, unless of course it's a massive amount but I suspect not or it would have said something along the lines of narcotics distribution with intent to supply, etc.

Fernsebner’s wife blamed ‘social media’ for her husband’s arrest.

She could hardly blame the police who failed to find him in two years or the immigration officers who allowed him into the country in the first place.

Mr. Dummkopf Fernseher should have watched TV only.

Perhaps his wife wanted to get rid off him and called Mark Zuckerberg in person.

When Interpol wanted him, he didn't forget to pay for his beer. When I saw him the first time on media I thought well, no work permit, that can't be good.

Another great and very dumb example of (dis)honest foreigners- the guy you could trust before when he helped the Misses-

Misses will be on front page news for two days and find a new man.

Bad-ass Fernseher will face reality and never come back to Thailand.
