They were not exposed by the authorities, far from it. They were exposed by private individuals ( not T.R)and this was then picked up by some media.

Ann Cryer certainly tried  to cast light on what was happening , I recall Jack Straw also voicing his concern.

It was definitely a huge scandal and to my mind heads should have rolled , the recent trials are a decade too late and many children suffered as a result of the inaction.

However our disgust at both the perpetrators and those who turned a blind eye simply should not translate into support for a man who has simply tried to benefit himself.

Nobody in their right mind would attempt to defend this rapist scum . By the same token , one would be pretty deluded to believe that Robinson has had anything to do with some of them finally being brought to justice.

The Attorney General has unequivocally stated that these vile rapists were being tried in a series of related and on going trials.
