BANGKOK, 29 July 2019 (NNT) - Two days of policy debate have passed with opposition MPs taking turns to debate a wide range of issues regarding the running of the country over the last five years. They claim that the new government’s policies are roughly defined and doubted that they can be put to work. Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha assured that the policies can be implemented and pledged to take into account the various views expressed during the debate.

The premier said the policies have been laid out in line with national reforms, national strategies and master plans. The policies are divided into those for implementation within a year, those for implementation in a-few-years time and those for implementation if a five-years time.

He assured the policies can be implemented and will not unduly favor any capitalists. The implementation of the policies will warrant budgets for use by varied ministries, departments and joint venture firms. He called for confidence in the optimum implementation of the policies. The premier thanked and apologized to MPs and senators and pledged to take their views into consideration in order to steer the policies.

Next month, the government will hold meetings with various government agencies on the policies to be carried out within given time frames to meet the people’s demands. The premier assured that the government will do its best in pursuit of the people’s interests and perform in integrated manner with regard to human resources, budgets and operational plans on basis of the rule of law, honesty, justice and transparency. Budgetary and financial disciplines will be strictly observed.
