They will occupy Thailand, Laos and the rest of SE Asia, but won't release more water. The opposite. Look at their own backyards. Peasants are just fodder for the factories.

I'm surprised no one else has told you what a silly idea that is.  Did you think it up all by yourself of do you have a link for some other LB that would think that.

I didn't mention ladyboys.  You must be obsessing again.

My post again so you can check.

It will all sort itself out. When all the reservoirs are full the Mekong will be majestic once more.

Thailand has never made much use of the Mekong for Isaan irrigation. Bit late to start now. Times are a'changing.

I can see China & Russia befriending North Korea next .

With all due respect, you are well late on that one.

Sorry to digress from the main story but there is a real scary tyrannical China swallowing everything it wants . Are Trumps tariffs on China the way forward so as to halt their gathering snowball ?

No. Didn't even cause a ripple on the pond. ZTE did, Huawei less so, but the Honorable and Highly Esteemed Leader of the Free World, whom I respect deeply, shat his pants and backed down.

Well here's a link for you: https://thediplomat.com/2018/03/chinas-forced-labor-problem/

That would be the future for China's new territories.

Your link says nothing about China invading Thailand and the rest of South east Asia and that is what you wrote and is a silly unsubstantiated idea.  I'm afraid just another example of your odd feelings about everyone in Asia./China

It's ok. China will release more water once they take over and occupy Thailand, Laos and the rest of SE Asia.

Hmmm. The 'occupy' part of your prediction is well under way. 'Takeover' can't be far behind.

And in the 'behind' is where most countries will take it from China.

The way things are going it won't be Thailand immigration laws that force expats (who don't speak/read Chinese) to leave Thailand.

The curse of china for its neighbours is similar to the USA and its South American Neighbours.

Maybe you could elaborate on this? Are you comparing the Mekong that runs beside Thailand to the bit of river at the end of the Rio Grande or something more ridiculously polemic? Latin America has never had it's act together but I guess more socialism would have saved it. It's a basket case.

The submarines demanded by USA to local countries will take care of China!

Very long article that can be summed up in a few words, China has its hands on the dams controlling the waters, and China will look after itself first, and da hell with the others downsteams, what can be done? nothing, can't even complain, look for water elsewhere...

In all fairness, China is only blocking water that fell as rain on Chinese territory.

China is friends with everyone, as long as you have something and offer.
Remember that there are 1,357,380,000 people in China and they need food and water .. rising thai leaves thailand, for better lives in the US and Europe.

It's good that. Mekong dries in easier and smuggles things in

No worries! PM Prayut will give his old mate Xi Jinping a call and get it all sorted. Prayut might have to do a bit of finger wagging but that's all in the game. After all PM Prayut is a very important man now that he is Chairman of ASEAN.

If Xi doesn't turn on the taps he might tell him where he can stick his Belt and Road initiative....and his fast trains.

Perhaps if Prayut swallows the gravy.

Thais have been raised to serve on their knees anyway so it isn’t much of a reach.
