Is this website a fake (PReP pill seller representing GPO Thailand)

The bottle did come after 2-3 with proper packaging and labeling from GPO Thailand. What concerns me though is:

  1. Website has a .com extension instead of a Thai specific one
  2. Whois details on the website have no information
  3. Website itself is very plain with little information. It collects address, paypal, then confirmation number
  4. I've heard there are lots of fake pills of other types floating around in Thailand

Do you guys think this is an illegitimate website selling fake pills?

No idea.

But given that it is illegal to sell this medication without a prescription, could be.

Should add, that this medication should not be prescribed without first checking liver enzymes and hepatitis panel.

I checked https://www.pulse-clinic.com/buypreponline/ and they also say a prescription is needed. They say it needs a doctor's license info even.

At the red cross I do give a prescription to the pharmacy. But I never see a doctor, just some counselor.

Edit looks like a lab report is acceptable in place of a doctor prescription at Pulse clinic:

you should have the original prescription with date

and doctor's signature and license number OR official report from laboratory sent to our email beforehand.

Take some photos of the pills you received and I'll compare to mine. Quite expensive, i assume you aren't in Thailand?

you can try iwantprepnow.co.uk i know that website is good

I'm in Pattaya, I go to Red Cross BKK to get them for 500/bottle or so but it kills a whole day. Do you know a cheaper online source?

Here is a picture of the pill and bottle:

They look legit. i don't know of a website you can use from Thailand. If you go to the Red Cross early you can get back to Pattaya by 2pm but i agree it's a long day but you can get 4 months worth, plus if you switch to the Indian version of PrEP its cheaper20181222_070446.jpg

There is no legal way to buy this online, and buying illegally there is always a question re whether it is genuine.

In addition periodic lab tests are needed to monitor liver function.

Make the trek to Bangkok.

Though a breakthrough, if used for HIV partner I've always thought it a bit of a waste of money if you are undetectable since if you cannot pass it on. A placebo M and M would probably be just as effective in most cases. If undetectable you'd have to be the first person in recorded history to pass it on !

Perhaps it's used by the non HIV positive partner as a safeguard in case the partner doesn't take the meds regularly enough, which going by my experience of Thai girls with other medication is likely

I emailed http://getmyprep.com asking about order restrictions, mostly as a test of their responsiveness. They emailed back saying there were none and I could email them for orders over 10 units.

I then emailed them asking if they could send proof of their validity due to a lack of information on the website. I did not get a response back today. Now I'm a bit concerned although I'll wait a few more days to give them time.

I also did research on the prevalence of fake pills and found the following:

1) China produces lots of fake illegal drugs

2) A British study found no fake PReP pills in the online sources they tested. But they only tested the biggest online sources.

Pattaya International Hospital quoted me 3,500 a month for meds plus 1,000 for every doctor's visit. Others said I'd have to talk to the doctor first.

Now I'm looking at https://getpreponline.com/ . They charge $110 shipped for a 90 day supply, don't require a prescription and guarantee delivery.

http://getmyprep.com never responded back to my request for verification.

However GPO Thailand was able to verify my medication and even email me a certificate of analysis matching the information on the bottle (lot number, manufacture and expiry date).

Finding the right person was tricky. Here is the person to call or email for cross-checks. Ask her for a Certificate of Analysis:
