Best way to go back

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone,

I was staying in Thailand for the last 6 months on VE and extensions.  I got first exemption when coming by plane and did 2 border run to Cambodia. It's my first long stay in Thailand, i only was there 2 times last year, each time 1 week.

I tried to get another VE last week by flying to Kuala Lumpur and go back Bangkok DMK but i was denied entry on the motif of lack of fund and send back to Kuala Lumpur.

I know it's dumb to have try DMK and no have made tourist visa but i not had much choice at the time to avoid overstay.

So now i'm stuck in Kuala Lumpur looking for the safest way to go back.

After reading a lot on this forum, i'm thinking about taking a plane to Vientiane to make SETV and come back by land with 20000 baht in cash, flight ticket out and hotel accommodation.

What are your advice about this and do you think i will need bank statement for applying to tourist visa in Vientiane in my current situation?

Having at least 20K, flight ticket and hotel booking are good to have but won’t stop you getting denied if the IO doesn’t like your history of visits.

A bank statement is not normally asked for but evidence of 20K is listed in their website. You need to make an appointment online via their website. https://thaivisavientiane.com/

My big concern is about the bank statement, i will be able to show the 20000 baht in cash but not bank statement, that's why i was thinking about Vientiane as i read they usually not ask for it.

I was thinking they ask for it pretty much everywhere but after reading the required documents from Kuala Lumpur consulate, i see they not ask it.

I'm considering this option, it would be more easier this way.

Do the bus from Kuala Lumpur to Hat Yai stop at Sadao border?
