Quelle surprise?

Who'da thunk it?

Wow. Delusional. It was European Jews who pushed for reviving their old country. Had nothing to do with the US and was long before the US had any interest in the region (or much of anywhere - the US has been isolationist until WW2!!).

Stop speaking as if you know what Israelis think or feel. I am Israeli-American and couldn't be happier with this decision. If they let them in the country the majority of Israelis would be upset.

There you go. It's them Jews controlling the media. Thanks for making my point.

Now for reality - the NYT often publishes views critical of Israel and it's government. And not all Jews automatically subscribe to either Zionism or support of the Israeli government.

Not the media, the NYT. Agree with your final sentence. Shame it doesn't apply to posters on this thread.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Thursday barred U.S. Democratic congresswomen Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar from making a planned trip to Israel, shortly after U.S. President Donald Trump called on his ally not to let them in.

another Trump's puppet....he may be for a big surprise in 2020 and may have to rethink his alliances

That's great news!

Israel does not even pretend anymore to care and act like a civilized country.

Hopefully this decision will wake up some people who until now think that Israel should never be criticized.

It's time that more and more people demand that Israel should be boycotted for their constant crimes against the Palestinians.

It's long overdue that the Palestinians get their own country!

Mate, the Palestinians are a made up people, created for political points, none the less Israel needs to have their bum kicked for the way they have treated the original inhabitants!

Early homo sapiens who settled there during the great "out of Africa" exodus. Long before Abraham & co.

Agree with you there. But all we can reference is written history, or in other words the bible and clear other indications from archeological sites etc that show Jews have been living there for thousands of years in past times. If you're taking the "they were there first" approach than Jews win by a landslide.

You don't have even an inkling of what I know. Your posts are either meant to be deliberately misleading, since they are full of misinformation and propaganda....or you are just truly ignorant of the truth. Preferring only to believe what absolves them of evil.

Of course your terrorists were 'freedom fighters'. Whereas anyone else's freedom fighters are 'terrorists'.

So please, post your partisan nonsense elsewhere.

Then simply answer the question. US President Cinton offered then PLO Chairman Arafat, EVERYTHING the PLO was demanding. Result; Arafat turned it down. The PLO isn't interested in a peace plan either of their own making or arranged by others. The total annihilation of the Jewish state is their only objective.

The Bible and the Torah aren't historical documents, they're primarily works of fiction based on loose historical facts. A good example is that the Bible teaches us that Eve was the first woman and gives an approximate location of the Garden of Eden, whereas genetics has taught us that the first woman lived somewhwere in Southern Africa and was probably African in appearance.

Who was in Palestine first, Arabs or Jews? Genetics has told us that they arrived at the same time as they are actually one race, genetically identical.

Canaanites?

that appears to be one of their claims but history also claims the canaanites tribes were all decimated 3,000+ years ago and they couldn't find any remnants

Genetics are not destiny. That's a fascistic concept. But it can be interesting anyway.

Palestinian Arabs and Jews have genetic similarities. So do Italians.

But so what?

The political movement of Zionism didn't originate based on genetics.

It came from the ideology that the Jewish people after experiencing thousands of years of oppression in the diaspora needed a homeland state for political self determination. Emphasis on needed. This ideology developed long before the Nazis.

The modern state of Israel with all its wonderfulness and all its faults is that place of Jewish political self determination. That and Boca Raton of course.

Great decision. These 2 women need to learn there are consequences for their actions. Their hate-mongering has gone way too far.

This disgraceful decision has just shown what Israel under Netanyahu has become, a "democratic" fascist semi dictatorship, just like what Trump is trying to turn the US into. Unfortunately Israel has no constitution, and PM Netanyahu and his ilk are practically dismantling any democratic government agencies. I sincerely hope that the Israelis will realize that eventually they will be subject to such repressive treatment, as the Palestinians in the occupied territories, unless they use the upcoming elections, which may be the last free ones, to get rid of Netanyahu and his ilks.

What "trump" clearly pushed, what Bibi clearly did in response to his pushing is really bad for the future of Israel. Unfortunately, Israel policy was already shifting into another partisan issue when historically it hasn't been so, but this makes it worse. Those congresswomen are elected U.S.A. officials. Israel in doing this even in response to an unhinged demagogue president as he is, is an EXTREME DISS to ALL AMERICANS. Bibi should have pushed back. Better to push back against this current occupant of the white house than to all Americans. While I am no fan of these congresswomen's views on Israel policy, what happened here makes me want to vomit. Israel demonizers if they haven't realized it already should be ecstatic that they were banned from Israel.

My thoughts exactly... followed by wondering how long it will be before congress start blocking everything pertaining to Israel.... followed by ????????????
