PHUKET: A truck driver has been fined B2,000 for his angry antics against a Phuket passenger van driver who refused to let him pass yesterday (Aug 26), while the van driver has been fined B500 for continually driving in the right-hand lane.

The incident came to a head in front of the Mae Som Jit Market on Patak Rd, Kata, where the truck driver, 24-year-old Hattapong Innurak, used his truck to force the van to a halt by coming to a stop askew across the road at about 1:30pm.

Hattapong then got out of his truck and shouted at the van driver, Anupong Sae-ngo, 24, who remained in his van.

Looks like more of a ring spanner to me. Van drivers usually deserve a few 'ring' adjustments. And most local truck drivers would probably make excellent proctologists.

oh so that is what a spanner is.

some call it a wrench... where I come from it's a spanner...

we also call idiots a "spanner" which refers to them being a "bit of a tool" !!

No money for the mirror, those are really expensive.

But the truck driver did manage to overtake.

No. A TV News video showed him undertake. I have some sympathy with him. MAny Thai and non-Thai drivers hog the outside overtaking lane forcing other drivers to undertake.

Despite the fines the TV News showed much 'Wai-ing' by the two drivers.

So he did get passed him, saying 'no' is just semantics.
