The TM30 is the responsibility of the hotel/owner of the residence, however, you don't know if it was filed.

If you go away from your home, they should report you, and then you do a new report when you are back home. But what happens if the TM30 when you were away wasn't filed (and you file a new TM30 once back home)?

If you don't care about the TM30, and the hotel reports you, but you don't ask your landlord to re-do a TM30 once home, then your TM30 isn't filed?

Scenario 1: You've just filed two TM30's from the same place - no issue.

Scenario 2: A hotel files a TM30, you go for an extension of stay but you've never filed one from your property - you are likely fined for not filing.

BTW: its not down to your landlord to do the TM30, its up to the 'house master' which if you are renting and your name is on the lease - thats you (at least thats the interpretation I've heard).

In reality - the only time TM30's are needed is if you have any dealing with an Immigration office (for extensions etc)... if you are just traveling in and out at an airport then its not an issue (so far, unless things change in the future, but I can't imagine the Airport Immigration asking for Tourists to show proof of TM30)

Go to your nearest pharmacy and tell them you need some immigration strength anxiety medication...

Take your meds and try to relax.

Immigration officials reading these threads get great satisfaction from seeing the results of their dysfunctional service...

Why so many questions/confusions and every time it sounds like: How can I do for getting away from filing TM30?

Just file one everytime you get back to your residence. Also ask your local Immigration Office if they want a TM30 when you travel for over 24 hours inside of Thailand or if they only ask for it when you come back from travelling outside of Thailand?

Cannot be more simple than that.

I travel a lot outside of Chonburi. In Issan many small guest houses and resorts dont ask for my passport thus do not submit a TM30. How do I explain to the IO without grassing up ?

There are three scenarios, due to that you do not know if they submit a TM30 or not:

1. Ask the hotel/guesthouse if they do submit a TM30, then you will know when and when not you have the visible need to file.

2. Just always file a TM30 when you arrive back. That will never cause a problem.

3. The right way would be to file TM30 every time you have been away, and if they ask why your leave has not been registred. Yeah, then you just give the hotels and guesthouses up and direct the problem in the right way.

Grassing up or not grassing up??? I just call it: you are doing what is your duty and looking after your own house in Thailand.
