Any public transport waiting at Utapao?

For 250 baht extra I can book an Air Asia ticket from CNX in Chiang Mai to UTP, and then a shuttle van to downtown Central Festival. Problem is the shortest shuttle van wait is 6 hours at Utapao.

Are there any shuttle vans who charge in the 50 - 200 thb range for a seat, with maybe a 30 minute wait for the shuttle to fill up? I have seen those at Udon Thani.

If not then I can pay a taxi around 700-800 to get back to Pattaya as a fallback option.
