The group entered Thailand on tourist visas and rented rooms at the hotel to carry out the scam.

Following a raid on the rooms, police seized 200 mobile phones and 40 laptops.

"The group have now been charged with working in Thailand illegally and will have their visas revoked."  They are running a huge fraud scam. But the RTP only have the capacity to charge them with working illegally!!!

They could arrest the African drug dealers in Sukhumvit and charge them with working illegally. Would be easier for them just to check passports than do proper law enforcement.

It would appear that people from many countries get caught for criminal activities but the Thai authorities only pinpoint the visitors or long stay ex-pats. for special attention regarding the paperwork needed to live here for extended periods because Immigration want to keep track of us so we do not participate in "criminal" activities.  What a joke things are becoming, especially as it has just been announced that long time and retirees will be charged with higher fees for hospital treatment.  I left about one year ago and I seem to have made it out just in time.  In Canada, all are treated fairly and equally and Thailand could take lessons from us about how to treat visitors, citizens, etc, the same way.  However, the answer is "cannot because it is the law".  Instead of one person going overseas to "investigate" closing times, etc. in other countries, may I suggest a better alternative would be for somebody to investigate how to treat visitors and others in a fair manner.

'nuf sed.

Yes, please ignore any suspicious activities by Thai nationals.  If we work hard, we can fine and deport all of the foreign devils.

Sounds suspiciously like a message from the Gestapo.  Just substitute jews for foreigners and it is identical.

and that's it, visa removal not banned for a very long period of time like they do with the westerners, Chinese have special treatment, IMO law not the same for everyone staying illegally

I can’t believe this! Chinese tourists are coveted here in LoS.  And the government loves ChiComs.  Look at the bi-lateral trade deals, and the hot money inflows at Bank of Thailand every trading day...

The government loves the Chinese government and the large numbers of Chinese tourists, but I don't think either immigration or the general Thai population has much love for them.

Actually they will be blacklisted. Don't take what the article says word for word, they don't necessarily mention every little immigration nuance, that would make the article too lengthy. Even if they were westerners, the article would be worded the same way.

Of course these guys will be blacklisted. Besides, there's only 1.4 billion other Chinese who have never been blacklisted to replace these 58 people.

Send them back to China, changes are they will get the death penalty, the Chinese authorities pass out death sentences like cookies!

Fraud only carries a death sentence if you're a Government high-up in China and then there's a two year commutation to life.

To the Chinese this isn't wrong it's just business.if you are gullible enough to have your pants pulled down in a scam/fraud/deal then your not a very good businessman.dont believe me? You tube China scams.

If they don't think it's wrong why would they travel to Thailand to do it?

The Chinese are parasites wherever they go. Ask the Cambodians, Laotians, Burmese, Malaysians, Indonesians, Filipinos, Africans, etc.

Widely believed that the Chinese are the Jews of the east, the Sikhs the Jews of India .
