We named and shamed dozens of local officials in our area with incriminating pics, vids and such on friday. Didnt realise it was anti corruption day at all.

Fact is nothing will be done. Never had and never will be, but it would be a great day if so.

If he were really serious about fighting corruption, he would start with current (not former) high ranking policemen, then he would investigate every general in the army, every ministerial post, then he would look at captains of industry, and lastly the governors and mayors of major cities. That alone would keep them busy for years and allow the arrest and conviction of thousands. 

 

Is he serious? Of course not. There is no fight. Especially against his own boys. Only hyperbole and rhetoric.

The Perceived Corruption Ranking of Thailand is presently 99 out of 180 and has changed little since 2014.

For heavens sake they teach corruption by example in the the schools. The children see directors and teachers scamming the lunch funding and anything else they can get their hands on and stealing their scholarship money when the opportunity arises. They must think and see that corruption is an acceptable Thai practice.

With all the huge projects and buying of military equipment,that has been going on,

there will be no reduction of corruption for the foreseeable future,plus all the MP's

had 5 lean years,so they have a lot to make up for.

Was exactly the same in India in the state where I lived. Each time a party got elected they immediately exposed their rivals, who'd often just been voted out, and had them arrested and charged. 

 

Sadly in the UK it seems corruption of all kinds is rife in parliament but all of them are above the law!
