Not superfluous. This treaty is a Brino from Hell, allowed onto the table by the EU and UK remainers. It is, in effect, not leaving at all. There is no sure way out of it and it costs a lot of money. So accept that.

I gather that you were on the UK  negotiating team in Brussels. Otherwise it's all conjecture and a lack of credence. Fact is May's deal honoured the referendum vote - which if I can remember, was 'LEAVE' the EU.

So accept that.

No. But I've read it. So accept that.

These people are being undemocratic and incredibly selfish by wanting to remain in the EU for their own benefit rather than that of the UK. What these expat protestors don't seem to realise (or maybe they do) is it isn't Bojo they're shouting insults at, it's the 17.4 million democratic leave voters who took part in the referendum. The PM's just attempting to carry out their wishes. No wonder us expats don't get much sympathy from the UK govt and citizens.

Had he not helped sabotage Mrs Mays deal then Brexit would be a done deal now.

Give the EU (german republic to be) nowt Boris....walk away now...we the British public should be allowed to make our own decisions on the way OUR country is run...not by a bunch of fat salaried non elected cronies who have absolutely no interest of what is best for our still great country

And exactly how do you propose he walks away and still delivers Brexit.

Are you going to do his prison time for him ?

This will probably be the highlight of Bettel’s career, trying to belittle the absent British PM while hiding behind the skirt of the EU.

He’s had his 5 minutes of fame. Nobody had heard of him before and he will soon be forgotten, the irrelevant <deleted> ????.

Remind us again what your relevance is ?

Yep, nice to take lessons in diplomacy from a country with a population less than the size of Birmingham and whose entire economy is based on facilitating dodgy corporate banking and tax avoidance:

the EU using IRELAND as an excuse, there are many EU countries that share a border with none EU countries, i did see it somewhere, but not to hand at this moment. and no problems at all. more scaremongering from the EU

Yes, they share a BORDER. Something with fences and checkpoints. There are no open borders between EU and non EU countries.

Because it was in your dreams ????

And ALL these EU countries with borders with NON-EU countries, which have a no deal with the EU, treat all crossings of persons, capital and products same as soon Eire has to do, in this case with North-Irish goods, persons and capital. In ffact only Poland with Kaliningrad/Russia + BeloRuss and the Baltic states with Russia. Others are all associate states.

You mean like Norway, Switzerland, and Iceland? Or like Turkey? I'm sure the EU would be amenable to similar arrangements with the UK.

All these countries have an Association agreement with the EU.

Only… the UK..  ( al least Boris & Dominic) do NOT want any agreement. So.. good luck.

Evidence to the contrary?

Ask that the person who made an accusation without being able to provide evidence. It’s up to him to prove it; not the other way round. Or would you want to be asked to prove that you’re not e.g. a psychopath?

Whatever, everyone who’s not completely stupid knows that Denmark is a sovereign state and that there’s no legislation or agreement whatsoever that would allow the EU to impose a referendum on the Danish.

So you are trying to tell everyone that the EU parliament have no option but to vote in favour. Fortunately the results would indicate how distanced you are from the truth.

You have to bear in mind the UK elected some of those, including your so called eu state head, that you seem to think incapable of thinking for themselves.

We are all perfectly aware that to the brexiteer the EU is evil personified so the rhetoric is par for the course.

This is a good listing with some explanation:

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Referendums_related_to_the_European_Union

Particularly this bit of the same listing. The European Constitution (failed) is essentially the same as the Lisbon Treaty. Notably, the French and Dutch rejected the European Constitution but were not given a vote on the The Lisbon Treaty, with the UK, Denmark, Czech Republic, Poland and Portugal not given a vote for either.

European Constitution, 2005

Several member states used or intended to use referendums to ratify the Treaty establishing a Constitution for Europe (TCE).

Referendums were planned, but not held, in:

A fine example of EU influenced democracy at its finest!
