Where can I find Japanese interior design stuff in Chiang Mai / the area?

Things like:

tatami floor-mats

paper sliding doors

japanese wall-paper

Is it expensive here? Any suggestions?

Try next to the new Rimping on Mahidol Road southbound, just North of Airport Junction. They have one of these Japanese 100 Yen (65Baht) stores there.

There used to be a place making tatami mats etc. They used to do the triangle cushions etc in part tatami.

They at one stage had a shop in the Night Bazaar.

I can't think where they were based though, its been a few years since I saw them.

Otherwise try around the shops on Nimmanhaemin you might find some Japanese style things there.

The Thai Tatami factory is down somewhere near Doi Kham distribution center, below Wat Doi Kham.

(Wat Doi Kham is behind the Rachaphreuk Expo site. If you drive down the road from the canal road. Turn right at the first roundabout you come to. Left takes you to the Night Safari. Straight on is for the Expo site and right goes to the Wat and other interesting places.)
