so he ask why? Why not use the system. Secret letter for what?

One can understand that the judge was upset and more could feel guilty for not having had the courage or the strength to refuse such an injustice.

That would be the same as suicide but they would most likely go after the family as well. 

Strange that "not guilty" verdicts were ordered to be changed to guilty verdicts. It is usually the other way around here. I guess someone has a major grudge against the defendants.

Or, as in the infamous Koh Tao case with the two Burmese lads, it could be that by securing convictions against some "patsy's", the real guilty parties get off with whatever they are charged with (assuming that the many rumours about that case are correct of course).

I’ve always been skeptical regarding Thai laws and this proves my point in case,. If you’ve got the money and connections your walking away. Believe the actions from the judge was a cry for help

if this someone is named...nothing will happen to the judge ..not immediately...but maybe to his mother and father...maybe first their bank accounts are freezed... later their house burns a gas bottle explosion unfortunately mom burn to death nobody speaks about the chains that tight her to the bedframe...later dad have a heart attack or a car accident..his son or daughter forced out of university because drugs found in car...

it would be an interesting subject to study the occurrence of (attempted) suicides, across government employees relative to the general population. 
This time a judge (how come a "junior" judge can mete out death sentences? why does the prosecutor not just appeal if the suspects are in his opinion guilty and he can proof that ?), a senior official last month, and maybe more that did not make the news. 
It seems that in Official duty, a lot of people are under an enormous amount of stress.
Any Sociologists or Psychologists on here who have looked into such statistics in other countries ?

It's odd that he would feel so guilty. No one actually gets the death penalty in Thailand. This isn't the US. DP is mostly for show in Thailand. They let you out of prison after a few years if you behave yourself. And immediately if you can pay the bribe. There is more to this story than we are being told. A judge would know that the 5 defendants would never do any serious time.
