Civil society group demands transparent investigation into judge’s suicide attempt

Chiang Mai temple pagoda unaffected by storm

The pagoda of the Wat Lam Chang temple in Chiang Mai province remains strong despite the town being hit by a storm, Thailand’s Fine Arts Department said. The department had been tasked with examining damage to the pagoda after the storm. Further inspection will be carried out, Minister of Culture Ittipol Khunpluem said.

Park officials have deployed drones to search for two wild elephants, which climbed out of the ravine at Haew Narok waterfall in Khao Yai national park, after officials delivered a truckload of bananas for the pachyderms to eat and regain their strength.

Opposition files complaint to CSD police against 4th Army Region commander

Opposition parties today lodged a complaint with Crime Suppression Division police (CSD) accusing the commander of the Fourth Army Region, Lt-Gen Pornsak Poonsawat, and Maj-Gen Burin Thongprapai, a specialist with the forward command of the Internal Security Operations Command (ISOC), of making false allegations.

PHUKET: Phuket Governor Phakaphong Tavipatana announcing that the Vegetarian Festival this year is expected to bring a B2 billion boost to the local economy would normally be perceived as good news. Yet doubts hover when it is understood that – even if that figure is not inflated – just five years ago the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) gave a predicted estimated tourism revenue for the festival period of B3bn.

Scenic sea of fog seen from Khao Takian Ngo mountain

PM: Taste, Shop, Spend scheme stimulates economy

Energy Business Department continues promoting B10 diesel, available at all service stations by March 2020

BANGKOK (NNT) - The overall consumption of benzine, diesel and LPG in the first 8 months of this year has increased year on year, but with a decrease in NGV consumption as more and more large vehicles change to B20 diesel.
