The OP isn't a genuine tourist....you know the ones. They come, spend money, travel around, then leave. And may return, or not return the following year or asubsequent year. The OP needs a different kind of visa or needs to find a different country.

WRONG.......If he was issued the visa he should 100% be let in period...I dont care how many visas he has had....

If Thailand does not want certain people here then dont issue the visa...

To not let some one in with a visa is just criminal....END OF STORY...

Don't get a visa on false pretenses then, that is criminal.

Immigration assume that everyone knows what a genuine tourist does.

They probably have too many cases of people in the past coming in on tourist visas but actually doing things that are non-tourist.

That said, they shouldn't have approved the METV at the point of application instead of coming to Thailand and getting it rejected. It just isn't fair.

Any country reserves the right to deny entry at the border to someone who was granted a visa. Thailand is not an exception. Thais have been suffering the EU visa application process for years. Not to mention the UK and US processes who are even restrictive

For decades westerners have been getting away with staying in Thailand for long
periods of time in ways that in none of our home countries are possible.
Have you ever heard of a visa run to Switzerland? Now that Thailand starting to crack down on this long-standing abuse people cry “it’s not fair”

I really don’t get it.

a METV  should be honoured if issued
if the bogus 180 days exists fine

define it is it like land crossings resets in jan

i had a 5  year multi for india

180 days max at a time never a problem

a metv should never be packed off home the metv can be cancelled a 30 day exempt issued and relevant data entered into computer and told to individual

define a tourist

everybody is different

some people just want sunshine relax and a pint for others its excursions etc

so all those people who go to spain lie on a sunbed beside the pool all day go to the bar at night have a sunday roast or sausage and sauerkraut are not defined as tourists.

Good idea, why should Thailand or "go fund me" pay for somebody else's health costs.

Except they're basically (with one limited exception) only going to accept Thai insurance policies, even for people who already have full coverage in Thailand thru their home country or other international insurance.

Do you like paying $2000 USD a year for a pretty useless Thai insurance policy that would only cover a fraction of what your pre-existing home country or international policy already covers?

Not to mention, NONE of the recently announced requirements have anything to do with people coming here visa exempt or on tourist visas, who typically are the ones who end up with hospital related go-fund-me pleas.  They're totally and completely exempt for now.

How's that for "good ideas"?

Trolling posts removed.

Drawing comparisons between Thailand and Nazi Germany is trolling and holidays will result if you persist.

This is not fair. They can see your history. If that is a reason to deny you at the border than a consulate should not issue a visa.

Hallo Freund, thanks for the report, one of many and counting ...

Rest assured that - apart from your GF - you actually don't miss much here, going downhill fast in pretty much every aspect.

Just make sure you spread the word back home up and down & left to right on social media so that people don't keep getting cought in this 1st class scam of issuing expensive visa first, then denying entry - with all the problems & additional high costs attached.
Also make sure to include the Austrians & Swiss, just for starters.

Generally tell the Volk over there to spend their hard earned Euros elsewhere, meanwhile it's worth excrement here anyway and that's the only way to deliver the adequate message to these greedy clowns in camoflage rags over here ...

Grusz, jolly eh.

Just go to another country,  how hard can it be?

Two things folks can do are spreading the word as widely as possible and spending their money elsewhere.

I wonder if Thai women who are involved with these men, get on FB and tell their friends how their boyfriend was not allowed to visit Thailand, how his big money on tickets and visa was wasted, how she is afraid to lose him and his support now.  Is she going to find a replacement from the program of waiving the 2000 baht fee for VOA for some limited weird countries like Ethiopia and Vanuatu during their 15 day max stay??

Before I moved to Thailand permanently a decade plus ago, I used to come here 3 or 4 times a year for vacations and later for preparation ahead of an anticipated move. Every single one of those visits over a period of 4-5 years was on a visa exempt entry. And never once was boo said about it, even as my passport gradually accumulated quite a collection of stamps.

Today, if I was trying to repeat that pattern, I doubt very much that it would be allowed by Immigration.

And yet all that time, I was living in my home country and holding down a full-time job in my home country. I was 100% a tourist, but one who was making a lot of repeat entries multiple times per year.

Visa exempt 30 days? you stayed max of 4 separate months in Thailand  going back to your origin country between visa exempt entries

OP it would appear has spent double that time per year in Thailand for a couple of years on x 2 METV probably just visiting neighbouring countries long enough to extend his stay

Not anyway near the same to an IO is it?

I send you the second screenshot where poster answered on a question …..and the land office answered  it made NO difference..... I think you did not read that line on second screenshot …so here it is once more .

anyway it is not my problem as am not in such a under scrutiny company form , just let you now …. just as here where smoke is ….could be fire .

It should be the Thai embassy that should be refusing to issue visas rather than issuing them to people who then get refused by some low level IO with the consequence of being thrown into a cell and wasting money on flights. It’s outrageous

I wasn't saying or suggesting my history is/was the same as the OPs.

I was saying, even with my lesser time in Thailand on a year to year basis during those days, I'm not sure I'd avoid entry hassles coming in today if I was doing the same thing today I was doing back then  --  which is a whole lot less than the OP's time in country.

most of these girls can't connect the dots that far

Why are the bangkok airports far more stringent than the land borders (with the exception of 1 or 2 of course)?

If you can be in and out of a country for many months on tourist visa, it's quite obvious he's unemployed.

Nonsense, ever heard of Digital Nomads?  They can work anywhere in the world for as long as they like.  International contracts , does not involve Thailand in any way except they want to live there some months every year.
