However, it could be touch and go if you encounter the wrong immigration official at DMK, especially if their detention room is relatively empty. What is your age? My age is 34. Im thinking maybe they will let me take a Thai passport Queue since Im travelling with a Thai Citizen. Would really suck if they send me back to Japan when I have my return flight back to Canada two weeks later from BKK. This time Im really a genuine tourist, day after my arrival actually my mother is coming to Thailand for a 2 weeks holiday, we have domestic flights, rental car and hotels booked. Even if immigration at DMK will stop me for questioning and they are willing to listen what I have to say and explain my situation then there shouldn't be a problem but who knows in what kind of mood this officer have who supposed to stamp my passport.

And may return, or not return the following year or asubsequent year. The OP needs a different kind of visa or needs to find a different country. Can you show me the official rule which says that only the tourists which match your definition may enter as tourist?
October 14, 20196 yr Assuming with your history you get an ED visa, which I think with the current passport is unlikely, they might just deny you again in Bangkok, land border is safer.
October 14, 20196 yr Popular Post What I find really disgusting is how Immigration deals with the refusals. Letting people wait in detention for days (other stories) so they basically agree to buy an expensive ticket out. Not everyone has the time to keep up with the "Immigration news" all the time. At least they could warn those people (once per person would be fine) and give them a 24h stamp into the country. This way they could leave on their own to a neighboring country. But it seems they are determined to really "punish" them.

Seriously, is it worth the stress, time, money aggravation? Don't be a drama queen. What we see is people who have spent extensive time in Thailand previously trying to get back in to live... and being vetted and returned. And you include an important phrase 'work for months'.... and 'saving'.... usually that doesn't fit a person who spent the last 8 months from 12 in Thailand already on TVs. As to these wonderful people putting money into the economy, it is a drop in an Ocean. They get 11 million visitors every 3 months, too many of them I suspect. Edited October 14, 20196 yr by jacko45k

October 14, 20196 yr Popular Post About this whole issue of turning away folks with METV etc... Thailand can do as they please but, They should get their $#@! together with their foreign consulates that sell these visa's. IF not a tourist should be able to file a claim for the wasted airfare if turned around at BKK After all the Thai Consulates in which ever country is selling the Visa & can see the passport that they are inserting visa into. Why should the right hand of Thailand not know what the left hand wants? How is this the applicants fault AFTER they spend thousands to travel & many hours in the air. I really think those refused should have recourse if up to that point the followed official channels

I thought there are e gates for those Thais who are holding e passport and regular gates for regular passport holders, but I guess now with the new fingerprinting thing it's not going to work anymore. How about if Thai is taking a foreign line at the passport control, are they going to allow it?

They would put statements out about various ways to lure them here?? What happened to that? Now you are treated like a criminal or undesirable or suspicious for being a frequent customer. I think we should flip the idea around, like airlines, do they start to reject you as a passenger when you travel too often? Accuse you of being a drug mule? Do they require more of a background check the more you travel with them? A deposit? Or do they start to reward you and give you benefits?? Thailand could offer a frequent visitor visa that you earn by frequent visits and time invested here, treat you better than the one time tourist who never comes back. They could offer gold status, silver status ...they love that stuff, and not charge of course for that. Interesting too is the banks not refusing transfers into Thailand on the grounds that you send or receive money too often or the money may not have been honestly obtained. Why is the junta not taking measures to limit or reject transfers to one's spouse, say?

That all doesn't really matter, I read from other OP's that they get denied with even the 2nd METV. Basically more than 6 months, and 2 METV in a year isn't allowed, this is what I think. And what you're planning sounds risky, probably because I'm more or less filled with fear right now. The first METV shouldn't be a problem, but I don't know really... Why can't you upload a pic of the stamp and what was written in you're passport. you were asked several Page's back ??

October 14, 20196 yr Well it sound like you are trying to live in Thailand with tourist visas as many comments above mentioned. With all respect.. i totally agree and understand immigration in your case. You have some tourists visas already.. coming back.. telling them visiting your girlfriend.. they all telling us that your trying to live in here. And people doing this are the reason why immigration is very strict now. i know you want to come and live here but why not do it in the right way! If you really love your girlfriend this much (visiting her many times, trying to live with her, etc.) marry her.

It is not a problem they can see a passport in the embassy. New passport? Simple declaration how many days and on what visas the applicant has spent in Thailand in the last 24 months. If the declaration were false, that would be the actual basis for deportation. Don't even need connected systems. But can't make money from it and it's not such great fun for THEM
October 14, 20196 yr Popular Post Comparing Thailand immigration to western countries is like comparing pickled onions to watermelons. All western countries have numerous Thais living, working, running businesses, they have citizenship, passports, access to welfare, pensions, medical. So it's understandable that most western countries have stricter immigration policies to limit the numbers that are getting their snouts into the welfare troughs. This is not a problem in Thailand. We foreigners get nothing. All we do is spend spend spend. What's it matter if someone spends 12 months a year on tourist visas spending money all day every day? They're never ever going to get Thai citizenship and free medical cover and access any Thai pension schemes or support systems. The Thais have the system locked up as tight as they possibly can.
