I did my extension last Friday.

I'd had just over 400k in my acc. since May although a slight error at bank dropped it below one day for a few minutes!

I picked up a bank letter and statement 2 hours before going for extension.

The statement was for only 6 months and although the earlier receits showed FTT the later ones showed moved from other acc. I transfer about 50,000 baht each month.

I had also downloaded a statement from my British bank and took copies of the annual letters I get from my pension suppliers.

I copy my wifes blue book alongside her ID card and she signs it to say I'm her husband and we live at that address. No TM 30.

Copies of everything else in passport.

I had been worried for the last few months and was on the verge of using agent but decided to try it. Friday afternoon is good because there's almost no-one else waiting, it took all of 5 minutes!

Job done until next year!!

That was for a retirement extension, combo method? if you only provided 6 months then sounds like leniency is back on the cards and Jomtien are being pragmatic. With combo method I don't think it matters the balance drops below 400k during the year as long as it all adds up to 800k

There have been reports of combination method being accepted at Jomtien. There was some prior argument as to what the bank balance amount needed to be, and 400,000 minimum was mentioned a lot.

Not sure if that is fact.

Yes, I have received similar reports from Expats doing their retirement extensions using the combo method. In their cases, they also had at least 400,000 in their bank.  Some did not have a full 12 months of transfers.  All had have a document from their pension provider stating the amount of their monthly pension-- not sure this is absolutely required, but apparently definitely helps.

Is there any requirement that some amount of the money in the bank portion of the combination method needs to be kept in the bank for three  months or for the balance of the year?

From what I've read in the past on threads incl from @ubonjoe it's the balance at the end so that the total is 800k. If not a full 12 month transfers are being provided the balance required is a grey area, to me at least

Not sure that I can fathom that.

When you apply for the extension , for example, you would need say Baht 320,000 in the bank and proof of 12 monthly deposits of Baht 40,000.

Once the extension is granted, does the Baht 320,000 or some fraction of it have to remain in your bank for three months or the full year or can it be spent as you like until two months before your next extension?

there doesn't appear to be a seeding requirement such as 2 months before application date.

Due to lack of replies on here it doesn't fill me with confidence to kick off the combo method. I might ask the question again in a few months and see if any other people have direct experience
