Does anyone know if the finger scan stations installed in every entry point or just airports?

Sure hope so. You wouldn't want to be explaining to immigration officer that you're not Dwayne Johnson each time you cross the border, would you...

In the UK, Immigration Enforcement Teams carry mobile scanners, about the same size os the mobile terminals that some restaurants use for credit card transactions at the table, they connect not only to the UKBA database but to EURODAC, the EU Database.

Not sure if Thai Immigration have these, but if not I suspect they will have at some time in the near future.

What are these databases you refer to? UKBA? EU..EURODAC?

Seems like every time I get finger scanned I have a problem. Needed multiple tries at BKK airport, and last time I was in Singapore I had to be escorted to a separate desk and treated like a criminal.

Looking at my fingertips the skin is creased and wrinkly from age (66).  I can only expect fingerprint recognition to get more and more problematic for myself.....and probably lots of other ageing travellers

Well done Sherlock. You're quite right.

You could try a Google search. Both are easy to identify!

Even my old iPhone had to reset all the time

What specifically did they do to make you claim they treated you like a criminal? Handcuffs? Taser? Lock-up? Frisk? Being escorted to another desk, in and of itself, is not being treated like a criminal. If your fingers don't scan properly then it sounds perfectly reasonable, like they are doing their job.

Maybe group escort, maybe Shy

UKBA - United Kingdom Border Agency

EU - European Union

EURODAC - is the acronym for the EU Fingerprint Database.

Not directly Thailand related but it shows what’s out there for those that take things seriously.
