Simply put, Mother Nature Reigns. As long as an animal population has a food source, the animals will survive and multiply to meet that food source. And Soi Dogs have human garbage.

if they can't have babies, then they can't multiply.... which is what Soi Dog is doing, bringing the population down

With all due respect to all of those animal lovers and helpers that are trying very hard to act humanely and avoid sufferings, but there must be a point where too many feral dogs are just too many and some controlled culling should be considered, it is a necessary evil and it's done in many countries around the world...

except it doesn't work

Soi dogs are not wild animals. They are domesticated animals that both humans and Thai people specifically are responsible for. It's not mother nature that has them running around being a nuicense, its the incompetence and unwillingness of the Thai government to do anything about it and the ignorance of alot of the locals who contribute to it.

Soi Dog foundation does great work but the are p*ssing in the wind when half the population whimsically decides to get a few dogs, feed them table scraps like yard chickens, and let them roam & take out garbage cans because they are malnourished.

Then add in the religious hypocrisy and there you have it. A never ending problem.

Humans and Thai people ? sounds scary to me.

Meanwhile more dogs were born than were dellt with by these soppy do gooders, the money would be better spent putting them out of their misery. These creatures are still a pest even if the few they deal with cannot breed, they still bark, spread disease and are a traffic hazzard as well as a physical danger. Soi dog foundation is just involved is slowing down the population growth slightly, not bringing the population down. There are millions of soi dogs and the country will always look third world until they are dealt with properly-killed off.

Bali does a good cull when needed no messing there ! but then again they are not buddhists.

Thai Buddhist will gladly let cocks rip each other apart for fun, keep pigs in appalling conditions and happily slaughter tens of thousands of cows. But when it comes to diseased stray dogs they come over all compassionate, and even feed them to 'make a merit' the place is a mad house.

Sadly this is true. Was at Wat Pho in Bang Khla the other day and fighting cocks being raised there. I was only there to photograph the flying foxes (BIG bats for those who don't know) and as was by the river when a guy came over and launched a dead fighting cock into the water. Big splash startled me and at first thought one of the giant bats had fallen in! Also 2 great big hogs in a tiny pen. The 2 could not turn around or move much...just stand and eat and lie down...uncomfortably. ☹️

Soi dog foundation is the animal equivalent of virtue signaling, what we need is the army employed to properly deal with the problem. Soi dog charities neutering a few thousand dogs is never going to be the answer. however much they like to pretend it is.

Whilst a drop in the ocean with regards to stray dogs and cats, the Organisation should be praised for what they do. Someone cares.

The problem is, 1 fertile bitch can have numerous litters of numerous pups. Those pups can have numerous litters ad infinitum. It seems that no matter what the Charity does, it's work will never be completed.

Or 2000 a week ?  I imagine that the stray Thai mutts breed faster than 2,000 a week throughout Thailand

It does work if it's done properly dead dogs do not breed

show me a study that shows t works, cos it doesn't... they don't have the capacity to kill all the dogs for a start, who is going to kill them? Where are they going to kill them? Who decides which dogs are going to be killed? See, if you apply some critical thinking then it starts to show how difficult it would be.

Sterilization does bring populations down without the problems you have with 'culling', but yes, it does need to be more than just Soi Dog doing it, should be a government program

But you still can not go for a walk in Thailand without being intimidating or attacked.

The soi mutts called scooter taxi drivers fill that void...

Where are they going to kill them

where ever they find a dog roaming around without its owner.

if its roaming around without its owner and no collar/id tag on then its fair game.

without the problems you have with 'culling',

but with all the other problems...noise,poo,biting,rabies,causing accidents, spreading rubbish all over while foraging in the bins.forming packs (couple of recent cases of persons being mauled to death) kids ,cyclists, joggers and responsible dog owners scared to go out and do their activities.DSCN0395.thumb.JPG.ee55341c4457075a5b39aa1c29737ddf.JPG

Good job. Sadly I don’t see any actual,  real efforts by the govt and local govt doing anything to mirror such action by the foundation. Poor animals mangey, diseased, sick, and dangerous to humans.
