Liquid pool chlorine-sodium hyperchlorite availability in Hua Hin area

Featured Replies

My local supplier (Pool Shop) for sodium hyperchlorite no longer stocks bulk product which I generally purchase in a re fillable 20 litre drum.  Whilst there is abundant availability of calcium hyperchlorite (powdered pool chorine) I am having difficulty in finding an outlet around the Hua Hin area that stocks liquid pool chlorine in bulk. Smaller quantities are available through Lazada but definitely not cost effective. Would appreciate if anyone is aware of a supplier in the Hua him area thanks.

Just use the 6% Haiter from Makro. (The big blue one in 5L jugs) There really isn't a difference other than concentration. Pool chlorine is 10%. So 20L of liquid pool chlorine is 6.7 bottles of Haiter. Cost wise, it's always worked out to about 30% more expensive for me than buying it from a pool shop, but no problems with availability.

Don't know what kind of a price you were getting from your local pool shop, so YMMV.

Thanks Monomial for the response,  last price at pool shop  about 12 months ago was 200 baht + drum exchange (20 litre) which I thought was running circa 13% strength. It was convenient. Think Haiter will be the next option if I don't have any luck.

Thaiwatsadu has a lot of chemicals for pools...not sure if they have what you want.

No stabilised chlorine tabs there? I know it's cheap, but aside from being unstablised, sodium hypo spikes pH so one needs to be bunging in acid to temper high pH to boot.

Thanks for your thoughtful comments Dave. Yes Stabilised tabs available here (Calcium Hyperchlorite + Cyanuric acid)  but was specifically chasing a local supplier for Sodium Hyperchlorite.
