I have a 4 door Isuzi Hi lander 1.9 2016  and have just been quoted  23,000 Bhat  for voluntary insurance on going through the Isuzi dealer  .  When I look at other insurance quote, with tip top insurance its normally on reaches the 20,000 bhat mark.  last year it was 17,000   bhat .......   Has anybody experienced this type of thing before ??

Is this guy trying to get 3,000 commission for sorting this out ??

Looked at various quotes and Thanchat insurance looked good ??

Any views opinions or advice would be appreciated .

My missus would prefer to deal face to face , therefore if anybody knows of a good insurance broker/company in the Sa Kaeo area that would be appreciated

Roojai gave my wife a quote of 6000 for a 2013 HiLux Vigo. Seems very cheap.

Depends what kind of coverage you get, like payout for theft or fire etc.

All I can get from the wife is that its got everything ??  and I can not read the current insurance policy !!!

She rang the guy up at Isuzi who was/is sorting out the insurance and he said everybody saying the same , had lots of claims

blah, blah, blah !!!!  dealership against garage.......seems all a spin to me......

My missus rung the insurance company direct SYN MUN KONG INSURANCE  and they were quoting a similar amount, however if I do it on their website the most expensive insurance was 19K bhat....

i changed to roojai 7500thb for a 4 year old 4 door triton, any driver over 30 + breakdown cover ( not that a mitsu will need it) they valued it at 100,000thb more than last years company and 3,000 thb less

Obviously I dont know your details etc but I ran the vehicle through Roojai and it cam e out @8k !!!!   You really should get a quote, for comparison. Do it yourself on their website , easy only takes a few minutes.

I think another thing you should look at is roadside assistance in the event of an accident. You need a company that has numerous offices around the country ( if you travel a lot ).

Some companies have offices few and far between  , so you could be sat waiting for hours for assistance.

I had a look a roojai  and the difference is  that they do not give you dealership repairs only garage . the same with some of the others...I am told this is why it is costing more.  Went to the SYN MUN KONG website and studied it more and I could get it cheaper if I went for garage cover .....   but it was about 22k with Dealership repair....I will investigate further today and find out about the breakdown and if it is included.....and make sure my missus has the breakdown number

thanks for the input

Many dealers will not even do bodywork, but leave it to the specialist bodyshop. Nothing wrong with 'no dealership cover', it can even be better.

The other think to consider is the deductible. When I was looking the Roojai quotes tended to have a 3-5k deductible which helps to reduce the premium. The other is how much no claims bonus you are getting?

If read your OP correctly your quote has risen by 6k from last year so what is the reason for that?
