Popular Post DrJack54
OP, which imm office do you apply for extensions? Return next day? As Steve pointed out some things can be done online. In 7 years of extensions I have been to CW 7 times. Most recent one io did not want copy of my tm30. Anyway can be done online or via mail. Reentry permits I don't even bother to obtain at CW as it's 10 minutes at airport. You must love your golf to be that busy for this huge impact on life in order to live ongoing in a foreign country.

Popular Post Mutt Daeng
Luckily I live in one of the more enlightened provinces wrt Immigration offices (Buriram). 1. File TM30 if required using phone app - no visit to Immigration required. 2. Apply for extension of permission to stay (up to 45 days early), granted at time of application (if docs OK), 90 day report done at same time, also re-entry permit done same visit if needed (I don't bother). 3. 90 days later, next 90 day report...possibly on-line. 4. No requirement for bank check after 90 days. Renewal of extension - End Oct. 90 Day report end Jan. Next 90 day end April. 3 visits (if 90 day online reporting not working) in 6 months. If online 90 day reporting working then 1 visit 12 months. It doesn't get much better than that IMHO.

None that I know of. Some countries have more hoops to jump through before initially granting permission to stay or a retirement visa, but afterwards there is often no further contact with immigration for at least a year or longer. As per a report from today, online 90-day reporting still doesn't work properly. https://forum.thaivisa.com/topic/1139683-90-day-reporting-new-system-a-concern/ 3

Popular Post Kerryd
Last summer I had to go to Jomtien 5 times in 3 1/2 months. 1. mid May - 90 day 2. end May - Extension 3. end May - p/u passport and get Multi re-entry 4. mid Aug - 90 day 5. end Aug = bank book check Jomtien will NOT synch your 90 day reports with your Extension. Last year I think I was just over the 1 week minimum when I got my passport back and sure enough, they wouldn't do the 90 day so I had to go back. 8 days later. Now I have timed my remaining 90 day reports so that next year when I do my Extension, the day I go back to get my passport will also be the day I do my next 90 day report (and get my new re-entry stamp). It's not a big deal for me as I don't live that far away (8 kms) and it gives me something to do rather than just sitting on my butt most of the year (when I'm not riding on it while travelling around the country that is). But it would be a major annoyance for those who have a life and/or live a distance away for sure. 3
mtls2005
4X in ~ 5 months for me. Transfer Stamps to new passport TM7 ext stay/ret TM8/MREEP + TM47/90 day report 90 day report Once I get a re-entry (in Jan) I can get back to 90-day reporting online. Should be able to get back to one visit annually: try to get the TM7 and TM8 done in one day.
Popular Post Presnock
if you cannot do the 90-day online regularly, you can always mail it in. There is no reason to go to imm to file that. It is very easy and ends up costing me 51 baht only. It would cost more than that just for gas to go to imm not counting the time spent in traffic and parking. I tried doing the on-line report but only was able to do it one time and never could do it again so over a year ago I switched to mailing and have had zero problems doing it this way! If you need instructions for mailing they should be available on this website. If you have problems finding the instructions, drop a note here and I will provide that which is needed. 2
HHTel
I do my yearly extension and 90 day reports in person. Equates to 4 times in a year with a total time in the immigration office of less than one hour, maybe even half that. However, I live in Hua Hin which is well known for dropping the BS that some other offices use.

AAArdvark
I have been in Thailand for one year and been to Immigration just once. The was for my initial 90 day. After that it was all done online.

Thais with authority always suit themselves first, you don't matter. 1

Jaxxper
Wish I had time to count the visits to immigration..... I think some folks need a hobby. Having said that I’m only a few KM from Jomtien, so no biggie.
AlfonsV
In CNX I need to go just once a year for annual renewal including multiple re-entry and TM 30 confirmation as the condo's office reports my arrival from abroad online (all together last time less than 4 hours). 90 days I do online myself and get the approval after a few hours (needs 10 minutes). Imo, that's more work than going to my local immigration office 4 times a year and do the 90 days report. I'm in and out in less than 5 min every time, and it's free. If I misunderstood you, please excuse me, ????never had I the smallest problem in Samui emigration excepted the first two years when the IO boss did ask 5 000 bahts for the yearly extension instead od 1 500, I think he was fired 5 or 6 years ago for corruption but even that once a year didn't upset me for more than five minutes. Moreover, I will add immodestly that I am the most patient man I have met in my life LOL. I do one hour of Pranayama breathing per day (Anulum Vilum) on top of two seances of meditation maybe it also helps LOL.
