The fine is only done for the most recent report that was not done within 24 hours.

The max fine is 2000 baht. It can be from 800 baht up ot the maximum fine.

I was fined 1900 baht for being 2 days late, the building owner was on holiday so was unable to provide a tabian baan and ID so fair enough

How were you fined? Mean you attended imm for which reason? Annual extension or....?

Which imm office?

You must of attended imm in order to be fined.

Fined 800 for a month late, Mrs went into her begging act

Again where and when?

Assuming you were doing annual extension based on marriage.

Everyone is aware of huge crackdown several months ago..

These posts without current reference are helpful?

Assuming your wife/landlord goes a month/week before you have to renew your "Visa Extension", how will Immigration know you lived there earlier.

OP, it would help if you gave info re which imm office you would deal with and reason to attend.

it would be for a final 30 extention on the last metv entry at either chiang mai or bangkok office. if not, i may just fly home a month and a half early.

the places i live at dont report, and neither do i. i have just been hopping border every two months but cant do that the last time as visa validity would be over.

im assuming the payment would be 1900 extention fee + 800-2000 penalty = $3900 max based on response above. for me would also require travel from bkk to mae sai for one last border hop before visa expires as well  followed by the dreaded imm office visit.

does not seem worth it for only 6 weeks more in country, especially when ive done this route many times already.

i guess i just answered my own question...

A fine of THB 1,900 for the late notification of the arrival of an alien at your residence is very unusual. Can you post a copy of the receipt for my collection?
