Hello All, I started 2 verities of collards and 2 verities of Southern Mustard and not

ever grown or eaten before, the wife transplanted the plants and didn't mark what

is what. I only know the dwarf blue kale. The wife does the dirt, I do the coir.

Beautiful . healthy garden.:clap2:

Where in Thailand are you located?

I Have not tried my hand at food gardening in Thailand yet, because I only spend a few months there, only fruit trees and such that don't require  attention when I am not there . In Florida where I live the rest of the time among other things I grow, cabbage, brussel sprouts , kale , spinach. They do well but only in the fall winter times when it is a little cooler.

I am retiring this spring and will be spending a lot more time at our Thai home, and would love to grow Kale. I love Kale with toasted garlic. Also would like to grow tomatoes but that's another story.

Any advice in growing it would be appreciated. We live in Khon Kaen.

I can't give you an answer but nice looking project you have going. I have been trying to learn vegetables in Thai for awhile now.

I'm in Bangkok and we have a few limes, a watermelon, and a few chili plants, going right now. The watermelon was kinda 'just for kicks.' I need to check on them actually.

We have put a big effort into it this year after various experiments the last 2 years.

Find that long beans , pak choay and rocket really thrive . Tomatoes ok but more work as seem to be less hardy. Wife now plants them in black bags rather than in the ground as a measure against disease or insect attack. Pak Boong also pretty easy. Did potatoes last year. Got a few but better grown in sacks rather than the ground and under a bit of shade during the hottest hours of the day.

In the first picture the plants on the left looks like mustard greens....

Thanks, but the pic#2 dwarf blue Kale, I start the plants in cups

and trays. My does the garden work.

I tried 5 different kale verities and the dwarf B-K over all grew best.

I got Southern Giant Curled Mustard and FL Broadleaf Mustard, and

Vates and GA Southern  Collard Greens.

Thanks for that post , i looked at your profile and and see you are in Korat .

I find it very encouraging that you have success with Kale in Korat as we are in Khon Kaen and I love Kale collard greens and the like.

We are in Florida right now and I am growing it right now, for my Fall/winter crop , hope to be back in Thailand this spring.

Thats them, I just don't know which one of the 2 mustard verities and

2 collard verities I had started, she planted and not all seed started.

From your pic's, I know what is what, but not the verity.

Thanks! rice555
