i assume it's your UK State pension which is sent every 28 days.

I am on same and my payments have been like clockwork in the last 7 years since I started to receive.

The only time the cycle is broken is if the due to leave UK date is on a weekend.

normally uk pensions if falling on a bank or national holiday and if in a foriegn country and they are informed are paid in advance and also in time to compensate for foriegn holidays. in six years here i have only had mine late due to proof of life form. mine is paid on tuesday four weekly so isnt affected so much by holidays, but a friday would be ver often.

I am in the same boat, should have received on 26th December but nothing yet. Last month was also late, phoned UK International Pension Division and told it was late as it went via US bank and it was thanksgiving. I always have problems receiving post in Thailand and worry about not receiving Life Certificate. I recently sent a letter asking if in future the Life Certificate can be emailed to me but I won't hold my breath !

They won't email it, I've asked that myself, they seem to have something against emails. Thanks for your reply, mine was on time last month but this month....good old UK.

My U.K. pension is paid every 28 days and it’s always on a Thursday the only difference is I have it paid into a U.K. bank and then do a transfer ever 3 or 4 months to save on transaction costs . I use the 800,000 in the Thai bank for my extension of stay ( retirement )

Your state pension can be paid into a Thai bank, it does away with all costs with a better exchange rate too...

It isn't so much hand to mouth (yes it is) as the problem of getting the 65,000 Baht each month into my Thai account for the retirement extension. I don't need to show my bank book as I get a good German pension and get the embassy letter from the German embassy each year for the extension but I am careful to comply with the rules as one never knows when things can change. I don't transfer all of my German pension as I am trying to pay off the overdraft that I have with my German bank and so rely on the small British pension to make up the difference to get the 65,000 Baht in, I'm hoping that the money will be booked in before the end of the month, it is too late now to transfer extra funds from my German account. Never mind, it is as it is.

I don't know, 28 days from the last payment has to be counted, last year it did arrive during what one could call the christmas holidays. A few days doesn't make any difference but I am worried in case I didn't receive a proof of existence letter and the payment will be deferred until I can get it sorted out, always a nightmare.

Phone them and find out. They will tell you whether they send you this letter.

I've just instructed that my UK pension be paid into a Thai bank. Now I won'y go into panic mode if it:s a bit late. My letter containing this was sent from New Zealand early December. Will it be paid in this month I wonder?

International pension payments are handled by an American company and are generally one day late if the payment date falls in the same week as a US bank holiday.

This information can be found on www.uk.gov/international pensions centre.

Citi Bank, Ireland.....

How can the due date be on a weekend when the cycle is 4 weekly? State pensions are paid out Monday through Friday, the actual day being determined by your NI number.

Public holidays interfere with the cycle of course, both in the UK and in the US, which I'm sure is what is causing the O/P's issue.

It's all clearly explained in these 2 websites:

https://www.gov.uk/state-pension/what-youll-get

that was helpful

This may be of some help to you.

How it’s paid
The day your pension is paid depends on your National Insurance number.

Last 2 digits of your National Insurance number    Day your State Pension gets paid
00 to 19    Monday
20 to 39    Tuesday
40 to 59    Wednesday
60 to 79    Thursday
80 to 99    Friday

That may not be absolutely correct as the last 2 numbers of my NI number are 53 and I get paid on a Friday, but it is a government website.

Can't believe that Trans. I used to get my pensions sent direct to my KBank account and though I knew how mush was sent I ha no idea when it would arrive nor how much I would actually get.

Last year I opened a borderless account with TW last year and my 3 pensions are paid into that. TW send me an SMS or email telling me it has arrived and how much.

I then do a fund transfer and before I finish they tell me

how much I will send

how much commission I pay

the forex rate that I will get (always 40 or 50 satang above the Thai rate)

they guarantee that rate will be held for the transfer

the date it will arrive in my account at BKK Bank

and then I proceed with the transaction

I normally get the message from TW around 2 pm and BKK Bank also send me an SMS when it gets to them, normally around 2 pm next day unless it is a weekend or a Thai holiday.

Not sure but you used to be able to voluntarily send one on every year to prevent this. Might be worth enquiring on the pensions helpline or writing to them

My pension arrives every 28 days on a Thursday into BKK Bank, unless there is a bank holiday in LOS, then on Friday. Costs nothing, costs nothing for withdrawals and pensions state their direct payment service provider gives preferential exchange rate. I cannot fault the service..

yes, same here except for the one time when they had a problem with the Bangkok bank and once when they didn't get the proof of existence form that I had sent, what a nightmare that was to sort out, which is why I have started to worry about what has gone wrong

DWP have a very poor system for certificates of life which they send by post and refuse to send by email. My MP is currently trying to get them to change their ways.

This year they claimed that they had not sent me a certificate, two days after it arrived by post. I asked them what they were playing about at and they replied that the person who sent it had not noted it on my record. They could just as easily note it on a record and not send it, then when they don't get it back your pension is suspended until they get one. Crazy.

Last year my pension was suspended over Christmas because I had not received a certificate.

DWP has a very poor system for everything. Three exchanges of letters took nearly a year and they refuse to communicate by email. In fact the UK seems to be 5 - 10 years behind Australia when it comes to IT systems. Wait with baited breath to see how the new 'global Britain' fares once free of the 'shackles'of the EU.

In the 17 years I have been receiving pensions from three different bodies: UK Government, and two Insurance companies there has been one or two days delay on many occasions when there is holiday in UK or Thailand.

I have never failed to receive my pensions more or less when they are due and in fact, have received them on a "before" date when the due date fell on a Saturday or Sunday.

I will bet that, unless there are special circumstances such as you not responding to a request for proving your continued existence, you will receive it very soon.
