Pattaya has the reputation as the sex capital of the world.  Sex is freely available on every corner and provided by thais for a price.  Pattaya definately isn't a family friendly tourist destination and a couple of foreigners having free sex isn't going to tarnish Pattaya reputation

Well, the police does not like it for the simple fact, that the same activity inside any of those family-oriented entertainment places ensures the little brown manila envelopes. 

Bottomline is, the police was - financially speaking - left out of the equation. 

But most likely, as usual, I am getting this story wrong too .........

Nonsense. Lot of the usual hypocrisy here in general. All your home countries, including those with legal prostitution, have laws that forbid public sex. When it's discovered then social media there will also be full of indignant and negative comments including the inevitable "get a room." Yawn.

These words are constantly used on Thaivisa. Generally Thai people would have no idea what ‘tarnish’ means. 

 

Obviously foreign media working in Thaivisa are making up these quotes to get a reaction to their story on here.
