PHOTOS: Thailand welcomes start of 2020

Thailand has welcomed in the New Year with huge firework displays signalling the start of a new decade.

In Bangkok, tens of thousands of revellers gathered along the banks of the Chao Phraya River and as midnight struck choreographed fireworks displays could be seen across the city.

In Pattaya, huge crowds attended the Pattaya Countdown 2020 event, with live music and fireworks.

If there really is a climate change, these holidays help speed it up!
Congatulations Bangkok, in a couple of hours you had a significant increase in PM 2.5!

The same in Khon Kaen - 110,000 in the official arena last year, 125,000 this year. As usual, a spectacular music, dancing, lights and fireworks extravaganza.

So much pushing and shoving from the "me first" people. I love it because I'm a giant compared to the little munchkins and walk all over them ????

After spending 1.5h a few years back trying to get back home from Bali Hai everybody in the family gave up with it. The aggravation is not worth a few firecrackers.
