I think you confused going to a local immigrations office to apply for an extension and "taking all your documentation" with simple entering the country.  Big difference...

Amazing some of the rude comments Thai people make - I was led to believe they were so polite , been here a few years I now know otherwise.

Mate, it has been a couple of years now that the polite 'wai' with hands in a praying position was replaced with an upturned scrounging palm. Can still come across nicer people in more rural areas though.
