I have a slip in my Passport with the TM 30, I used this slip with no problem on my last 90 day report.

I am out of the country, my Retirement extension is valid till April and I have a re=entry permit, will I have to go to Immigration again within 72 hours of arrival, and if so, what do I need to bring with me?

Is the paper in my passport not good enough ?

Oh, I use Jomtien.  Thanks guys.

Technically yes but I have been told on 2 previous occasions by Jomtien immigration that those with retirement  visas staying in the same address do not need to submit a new TM30 each time when returning from abroad.  I returned most recently in July, didn't report and have had no subsequent problems with 90 day reports though haven't yet had to do the retirement extension.

Ok@ gmac, thanks for the info, maybe best I go to the office within 72 hours and check , considering they are always changing policies......

Thanks for your input, cheers.

OP, I don't follow exactly what your asking. The tm30 is not required for your 90 day report which will be done 90 days from your reentry date. As for tm30 when you next apply for your 12 month extension, it may or may not be required. Depends on imm office. You don't need to attend imm to file a tm30.

I actually did my extension at CW last Oct. The io did not ask for tm30. However due to uncertainty about the tm30, I did one just after re-entry into Thailand and had it with me. Was not required.

I commented on this a few months ago. I was given the same advice when I did my TM30 on returning from the UK in October. I was told that, as a condo owner, I didn't have to keep doing TM30s even if I left the Kingdom. This was repeated to me when I queried it. Now, for me, doing a TM30 after foreign travel is no hardship and I have determined that I will continue to report my return from abroad. Not that I don't trust them.................

Ok, thanks for the input guys, it's best I just go to Immigration, its just so inconvenient, just what I need after a long trip with no sleep.

Thanks again.

Ok guys, I arrived in Thailand in the morning, I went to Jomtien Immigration in the afternoon ( It was packed out by the way ), I saw the senior officer at the reception, I said I arrived in the morning from outside Thailand so do I need to do another TM30, he looked at the existing TM30 slip stapled in the passport, asked if I was at the same address, Yes I replied, no need to report he said, thanks I said and made my way out through the sea of people.
That’s the latest update from Jomtien.

Cheers.

That seems logical, the object of the TM30 is to keep Immigration informed so if they already have the information, then they are informed.

In some cases the TM30 seems to be the object, hence the need for a receipt should we feel sorry for those effected?

I am on retirement yearly extension and have EMS posted TM30's after OS trips returning to same address and have received receipts 2 weeks after posting. I do it regardless of what people say. I have receipts in my wallet always if need be. Never trust the Thais. Same goes for TM28, if I go anywhere in Thailand I post it the day before I fly to that destination.

Hi, I PM-ed you a comprehensive step-by-step instruction on how to register and file TM30s on-line using the IO TM30 website.  Takes max 20 minutes to register, and max 20 minutes to file your 1st TM30.  After that, subsequent TM30s will take less than 2 minutes.  Piece of cake.
