I agree totally! And it starts with the man at the top. He should "walk the talk" and apply the law and the rules of government the same way that a two-way street functions. The same rules should apply to ALL politicians, his fragmented ruling party AND the opposition ..... equally. Then, a year from now (if he is still PM after his walk), he will be able to hold his head high when addressing children and show that he leads by example. He needs to learn the "duties and responsibilities", not just talk about them. Don't just "talk the walk" Prayut. You need to "walk the talk" too.

And how did he/they exactly get into office? Certainly not by taking supreme advantages or by manipulation of the constitution and then by using other low tactics. And who took them by surprise and then retaliated to squash the breath of fresh air of the new Thai generation? Stay tuned for January 21 decision. Hades is not going to freeze over soon. The international arena recognizes what happened and what is still happening. None of this shows any morals or good citizenship or leadership. And for Steven100. All of these projects were the brain child of the Shinawatra era. Not them and not their own. So it is taking advantage of other people's programs and ideas and calling it their own. And who duplicates a certain predecessor by paying off the poor farmers and giving money to the Thai people? Not exactly honorable. And no, I do not like Thakskin but he was way more clever ingenious than these pretentious people ever could be. I love Thailand, but stand with the new generation that is being put down. It is their future, not these old power mongering dinosaurs and not for the benefit of them and the elite they only protect. I also say the USA, China, Russia (middle east is a loss cause) are all in leadership predicaments as well, but we live here, and I have family with kids here and look to their future and hope for better things than the military control of falsehood. 8

Napoleons achievements have been very slim with a long list of social and economic problems he has no idea about solving and the infrastructure plans were mostly put in place before his time like the BTS expansions, or are just not viable like high speed trains. Be happy each day .... not sad ... ???? Many years ago, when I went to school in England the only non-school uniform I ever saw was worn by police, who came to teach us about road safety. Outside school I only ever saw a military uniform on TV or on Armistice Day. On special days at school, such as Speech Day, a prominent 'Captain of Industry' would be the Guest of Honor & Speaker. Fast forward 60 years and here I am retired and living in Thailand for 15 years. When I arrived I felt there was a quasi police state, with a semblance of democracy through elections, albeit with strong undertones of corruption. It's appropriate that Prayut should be speaking at the Ministry of Education, because his military indoctrination programme is based on showing school pupils that the army is the institution to look up to and obey. I watch the Thai news at 8pm most evenings. Each time I see Prayut's team of smiling chocolate soldiers carrying out official functions (inspecting pupils work, presenting prizes and diplomas) at schools, which in any basic democratic country would be carried out by respected Education Governors or University Dons. I have a Thai wife and have invested money in this country, so won't be leaving any time soon, if I have the choice. In the meantime I will observe and comment on the sheer bu##s##t Prayut and sycophants like you utter in your attempt to brainwash us all into believing "you've never had it so good".

Because sadly you'd get the same old corrupt powerful crime families rigging it with bribery, coercion, etc. A good start would be a sweeping change of the judicial system to ensure all laws are clear, and are applied equally and fairly to everybody; and a real clampdown on corruption, regardless of who they are. That followed by open and free elections might do it. Ain't gonna happen though. 1

Harsh? the secret to a compliant society is to have a good indoctrination system in place, they have that, the education system! Then you need to control the press, check that one of the list. Then, just to be doubly sure make it a serious offence to say anything about the true leadership - check that one of the list also. Helps if you ensure "your" people will be in the Senate for many years to come - check! Hopefully, if they don't do like Singapore has and completely ban anything that remotely criticises the "government" people may learn the truth and get off their butts! Going to be hard to break through the years of indoctrination for some though, others are just too far gone = brainwashed!
